We replanted natural rootstock cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and syrah in the ashes. Located in the La Panza Mountain Range in the Paso Robles Appellation at 2,000 feet elevation, our vineyard consists of steep hills of sandstone, granite, quartz, and Franciscan complex. With average summer temperatures of 90+ degrees cooling to 50 degrees at night, plus cold winters with snow, our unique terroir produces complex and flavorful grapes. Our babydoll sheep tend to the weeds while our owls guard the vineyard from pests. There’s a story in every bottle of wine. Every vintage is a reflection of the year, and as winemakers and vineyard stewards, it is our privilege to tell Mother Nature’s chronicles of fire, snow, drought, or bounty as flavorful and elegantly as possible. Our small production, handcrafted wines are sustainably produced with minimal intervention, reflecting our vineyard's full influence in the winemaking process. We pick when our grapes are perfectly ripe, crush minutes after handpicking, and age our wines for 2-3 years in French oak barrels. We produce about 2,000 cases a year of consistent, balanced, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, low sulfites, and nature friendly wines that are drinkable when bottled or can age for 10 or more years. "Every vintage is a reflection of the year and it is our privilege to tell Mother Nature’s chronicles of fire, snow, drought, or bounty as flavorful and elegantly as possible.
