Informative And To The Point
This book was a wonderful read. It was easy to follow and informative without over-explaining things. It was quick and to the point. The author tied the concepts together nicely and was careful to explain throughout the book that this is a guide. There's the method and concept itself with examples and ideas but it's really up to the parent to figure out how and to what extent they get implemented based on their unique circumstances.I would highly recommend as a good starting point to anyone curious and wanting to dive into the montessori method.

Strong Book on Montessori
This book gives a clear and compelling description of Montessori education, explaining how it involves self-direction, hands-on learning, and playing in a way that is highly collaborative. It talks about how children are given more creative choices about how they learn. It explains how teachers, or "guides", help to bring out the best in the child with what the child chooses to learn about at any moment. Children work in groups and individually. The book gives a history of Montessori. Talks about classroom environments. And talks about home environments, which is particularly important these days. It even has a bonus section on meditation. Overall, a solid book.

Fantastic Alternative
This is a much better alternative to Montessori Baby/Toddler. The tone is more friendly and approachable, and wonderful for kindle unlimited users. Don’t buy Montessori Baby; Get this or go to the library!

Great overview and practical tips for understanding a Montessori education
We put our son in a non-traditional education when he was 2 years old (Waldorf Education). And, therefore, I am always on the look out for books that can help other parents understand that they have options for their child's education. This book provides an excellent history of Montessori. It then dives into setting up your home to reflect more of a Montessori mindset and outlines wonderful advice on games to play (even a bonus meditation). It is an excellent read for parents who are learning about alternative education methods for their kiddos!

A Wonderful Guide!
A fantastic start up guide that will give you all the tools you need to get started whether you’re a Montessori parent just starting out or a skeptic like me wanting to learn more. The research, scientific basis, and application of this learning format, laid out in this book have changed me from a skeptic to wanting to learn even more. Highly recommended!

It's a lot of filler text and few key points
Honestly, "The Montessori Baby," and "The Montessori Toddler" had way more actual information. This book didn't really introduce anything new and left out some important topics. This book is a very easy read, but not substantive. There are very few real peer-reviewed references, and a lot of references to social media posts (YouTube, Pinterest, etc). Definitely take it with a grain of salt.

Short and sweet, very useful
It’s a very useful quick read to get a glimpse of how Montessori works. Practical ideas. You can use it as a sort of manual to go back to when you have doubts.

Amazing purchase that I will continue to use as a reference
As a first time mom who wanted to implement Montessori but was overwhelmed about where to begin, this book was amazing ! Gives you age appropriate activities and ideas and truly does break everything down step-by-step.

Perfect for beginners and non beginners
*Perfect for beginners and non-beginners*This is one of the most well researched books I’ve read on Montessori home education. I am not a newbie to Montessori and I am a big fan of this form of education. This book is extremely informative and I can see how parents who are just starting to explore this world of Montessori will learn a great deal from this book. It’s very well explained and helps you build your Montessori home step by step. As I said, I’m not a newbie to Montessori but still learned a lot of new things. Not so much on the concepts which I already knew but I learned so many new practical ways to use Montessori at home with my kids. Great value.

Great book, excellent activities
This book is easy to follow, everything is explained really well and there are a lot of examples, which I loved. I enjoyed all the various topics covered, from feeding, sleeping, movement, nature, music, what not… all in great detail but not overwhelming. We already practice in our house dozens of the suggested activities and did a lot of DIY stuff which we never did before. I’m not planning on sending my kids back to kindergarten anytime soon and who knows when we’ll be in lockdown again, so I’m glad we started implementing Montessori at home now.

Not what I expected
**REVIEW UPDATED FROM 3 TO 4 STARS AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF USE**See inline below for updates.Perhaps the onus is on me, but this book does not read as an “ultimate guide.” Three things to consider:1) the entire book could be summed up in a blog post. I found the content rather repetitive and unless the concept of Montessori is completely new to you, it can become annoying a few chapters in.UPDATE: If you are jumping chapters or skimming the book, I can now better understand the usefulness of repetition between chapters. This has at least become handy when referring to a certain area and looking only there.2) it seemed to me that there were some obvious assumptions about the both reader (presumed female/mother) and the traditional family unit that were being made.UPDATE: n/a, I still think “motherese” should be updated to “parentese” among a few other gender specific, father/male role model isolating phrases and sections within the book.3) the references section of the book was useful…but then the author suggests using IG and Pinterest for ideas rather than providing some that might be unique or interesting.UPDATE: I’ve referred back to some of the suggestions in the book and while some seem to be extremely obvious (example: make eye contact when speaking), again, I can see how this might be somewhat useful instruction if completely new to Montessori. I would still like to see more original suggestions for activities/modeling than what can easily be found in a Pinterest search though, if I’m buying a book. The Montessori Toddler does a bit of a better job at this, in my opinion. All in all, this is one I would probably have passed on had I been able to skim it at a book store but I can see how it might be a good general overview for someone completely new and looking for the merit in the Montessori approach.
