So far so good.
Using it for in depth information related to an upcoming river cruise. Quickly realized that there is more to see than our cruise covers but there could be a future trip to cover what we will miss. Good overview of the area.

A Hidden Delight Of France!
This guide is great in introducing one to an area of France that doesn’t seem to be a “destination” location. It’s history and topography are breathtaking and being cozied up to its neighbor Spain , the cultural influences abound! Bordeaux is close by so one might want to visit some wine caves for a truly wonderful and educational experience of wine and its harvesting! I mean WINE NOT!This guide is a must before and during this adventure!

Poorly Organized
For trip planning purposes - found this guide poorly organized. There's no logical sense to how they've placed the discussion of locations within a region - leads one to think 2 towns or locations may be near each other, when they aren't. I'd prefer to see locations and attractions placed together to assist in planning a particular day's drive. Using several guides to plan a Bordeaux, Dordogne trip and would rate this the very least useful of all the guides. (And using the Kindle version, the photos really aren't that great and there's much fewer of them than other guides).

I think the quality of these Eyewitness books may be slipping.
I have used other Eyewitness books, but this is the first one I've purchased in some time. I remember the other guides having more depth--occasionally choosing to share information in detail--but this one is shallow. The index is poor--almost nothing is on the page that the index prescribes, though often the index is only off by a page or two. Usually a travel guide not only prepares you for your trip, but gets you excited about going. This particular guide doesn't prepare me particularly well (for example, there's no temperature or weather chart) and the pictures and prose are bland.

Worst travel guide I have ever read
I have read and used more than 20 travel guides in the last ten years, and found most of them very useful and practical. That is not the case with this guide. Each region is summarized by top ten places to visit, with 1-2 pages of tiny summaries of each. That's it. No detail, no history, no practical information beyond the occasional website. Truly useless.

DK Eyewitness Dordogne, Bordeaux and the Southwest Coast (Travel guide)
I am beyond disappointed! I purchased the paperback of this book and found it wonderful. Since I didn’t want to carry a book around on my trip, I purchased the Kindle version in addition. These 2 versions are NOT the same. The kindle version is a complete waste of space. So vague and so condensed it is meaningless. I would like my money back and would like to erase it from jy library. Amazon should not allow this to happen! Putting a book side by side when they are clearly NOT the same book.
