favorite tool
Probably use this tool more than any other, especially good at drywall, but also trims wood when needed. So convenient with the battery operation and works as well as my electric one.

Works great for me so far...
This oscillating multi-tool is terrific! My first job over the weekend was to replace a section of drywall (about 22"x15" in our dishwasher cabinet. The wall was damaged when our dishwasher broke and flooded the cabinet with water. I never could have made as close fitting, right-angle, and straight cuts with a normal hand drywall saw. I watched a couple of training videos online, but found that the best way for me (at least until I get more experience) to cut a long straight line, is to "plunge cut" along the pencil line. It took a little more time, but worked well. Shorter cuts may be less of a problem. I did get a specialized drywall blade. The tool itself is lightweight and well designed. Vibration was not a problem. This tool uses an on-off switch rather than a trigger and a dial speed control. I found this well-suited for the way I had to work in a confined space. I could use two hands and concentrate on the work rather than controlling the trigger (especially a variable speed trigger). The blade change is done by flipping a lever on top of the head of the tool to the side which opens the mandrel allowing a universal type blade to be inserted. If you need to use a blade that has a closed end mount, when the mandrel is open, you can twist a knob and remove the lower part of the mandrel to mount the blade (you will need to replace the lower part of the mandrel to complete the process). This system was the main reason I selected this tool. The other brand I was contemplating had a lever to squeeze to open the mandrel. A faster system, but the pressure required was almost too much for my older hands and my wife definitely could not do it.Battery life on this tool seems great so far. I was able to complete my project using only 1 bar on the battery (4 bars total). That included cleaning up the hole, cutting the piece to fill the hole, cutting off a stray nail and trying to cut some molding. Everything worked well except the molding, I think I will go back to a miter box and saw for that. The tool comes with an assortment of blades (well marked for materials/function), sanding attachment and sandpaper. The accessories even have a little case to keep them from wandering (a very thoughtful inclusion). It also includes a 2ah battery and rapid charger (the rapid charger is also thoughtful). The only thing missing is a case to replace the box and I will probably get specialized blades as I need them.If Skil reads these reviews a suggestion would be the inclusion of a depth guide to help working with drywall.

Doesn't Work and SKIL WON'T HONOR the WARRANTY
BLUF: It won't turn on. I contacted SKIL directly and was told the vendor is an unauthorized retailer and despite being less than 6 months old, the warranty doesn't apply.

ALMOST NO VIBRATION
I ordered this multitool here on Amazon after considering the Bosch 12v and 18v, and the Skil 20v (non-brushless) version. I'm based in the Philippines and the Skil 20v multitool available locally is the non-brushless version, without the vibration reduction head and without the quick change lock. Considering the shipping fee and taxes, I decided to bite the bullet, just order and have it shipped directly from Amazon. At that time, there was no available stock, around mid April 2020, but I went ahead and preordered. When it finally was in stock, it left the USA 3 days ago and I just received it. I immediately went straight to test it out on a fiber glass project I was doing. The blades that came with it were great. I was able to cut through an half-inch solid fiber glass piece within a few seconds. I barely felt the vibration on the hand that was holding the tool. My left hand, which was holding the fiber glass part, really felt all the vibration while cutting. The vibration reduction was amazing! The quick change/release allowed me to switch between the end-cut blade and segment saw blade blade within seconds. Keep in mind that your blade has to have the C-cut attachment to maximize the quick change feature.Comparing to using a Dremel for years, this tool is a god-send! Totally worth the wait! Only thing was, I ordered 4 more tools from Skil's 20v line-up... All worth the price!

A brute!!!!!!
I have been nothing but impressed with the tool. It has a long battery life. How long I cannot say as it has not ran out yet and I have used it on every project. I was skeptical, at 1 st on the brand. It has not been known to be a contractor grade as many other brands have been sought after.I chanced it to become very pleased. It has only been Christmas of 2022. Although it has been used more than most will do in a 2 years. The attachments it comes with are nice to have.Only downsize compared to the Dewalt. It’s a bit bulky. Other than that it does the same thing and comes with a battery and charger.
