Rusty Metal Spray!
This product works really well! Good price, and is easy to use. Not a thick liquid to be sprayed. It goes on as black to cover where you need it, and dries fast.

This Stuff Rocks!
OSPHO works great and is made in USA. I have been using it on tools, drill bits, lawnmowers, etc., for years and recently bought a gallon to eliminate the severe rust under my car (c'mon Toyota!). To clarify, this isn't a rust encapsulating paint, it's a rust eating/neutralizing acid type treatment. It eliminates rust (turns black) so it can be repainted. There are a few reviews that said it didn't work completely - it actually works great, but with a few caveats:- On deep or thick (layered) rust you should wire brush it first to expose the bottom layer. If you don't, there may still be rust under the top layers. Close pressure washing works also.- Any oil or coating on the surface can prevent this from getting to the rust. When necessary, I use alcohol or dawn detergent to clean the surface. With any detergent you must rinse thoroughly, as some leave a water spot reducing film.- On heavy rust it's good to wire brush after treatment to make certain you got it all. A few times after treatments I wire brushed and rust dust appeared. A second treatment usually gets the rest in heavy rust applications. It was great to find this in gallons at a very competitive price!

Rust is everywhere
First: I bought this Ospho with my own money and I am not being tortured to write this.As you know painting over sanded rust doesn't work for very long. I've used various rust "converters", and I like Ospho best so far. Just scrape off loose rust first. Try a "flap disk" on really thick rust. Then slop on the Ospho and leave it overnight. I keep a supply of cut-off plastic bottle bottoms for this step and painting in general, so I don't contaminate the supply bottle. If it doesn't look rust free, I do it a second treatment. Usually the first treatment is fine. Either way, it goes really fast. I use cheap "chip" brushes, work outside because it's going to drip. Don't get it on your clothes because it's an acid. I like using a brush because it mechanically pushes whatever I am using into the surface better than spraying or rolling. I spray off the surface with a hose, let that dry and then prime and paint.I work on a lot of different things and use a lot of different products, and find it useful to read reviews before I try something new. I'm mystified by the usually small number of one star complainers and wonder if they read the directions, actually plugged the device in, put good gas in it, shook the container first, stirred, etc. You don't have to shake, stir or pull start Ospho. I have never had any issues with Ospho containers. I hope you don't either. This is good stuff, easy to use. It works.

Works Well, But Could Be Easier to Use
Ospho Metal Treatment does a good job preventing rust and treating metal surfaces. After applying it, the metal seemed well-protected and ready for painting or finishing. I appreciate that it’s effective and works as advertised. My only small complaint is that the application can be a bit tricky—it’s a thin liquid, so it drips easily and requires careful handling. Overall, it’s a solid product and I’d recommend it, just be prepared to take your time during application.

Skyco Ospho Surface Prep turned into a 30 star review!
I sprayed my rusty diamond plate bed twice in 4 days with no sand paper or muscles required to get it ready for paint. Just a broom and some air get the loose dirt out before paint.I then connected this 32oz. quart can of White Rust-Oleum 7797502 Stops Rust paint to my brand new Mixing Mate 10-091 Quart Size paint mixer and mixed up the paint. Incredibly cool! I then poured this paint into this mason jar that screws on to the Critter Spray Gun. I then hooked it up to my DEWALT DWFP55130 Heavy Duty 200 PSI Quiet Trim Compressor with my inline TEKTON 4755 Oil/Water Separator filter I installed on the end of my spray gun.I then painted the back of my once rusted one ton utility bed and sides of my truck, which is no longer rusty, because I sprayed Skyco Ospho Surface Prep on it with a cheap old spray bottle. The Rust-Oleum 7797502 Stops Rust paint is of good quality. The mixing with the Mixing Mate was incredibly easy. What an invention! The compressor handled the job easily, not to mention it's the quietest compressor I've ever used! I'm so impressed with this Skyco Ospho Surface prep for removing metal rust. I didn't have any sanding or prep either! The Tekton filter had a tablespoon of water inside of it after I was done painting. All I did was push the button and out came the water. The Critter Spray Gun, Rust-Oleum Stop Rust Paint, Mixing Mate for paint, DEWALT DWFP55130 Quiet air compressor, Skyco Ospho Surface Prep, and the TEKTON 4755 filter all performed with quality. All 6 get a five stars rating! That's a 30 star review!

This stuff works
I've tried quite a few rust converters with mixed results. Most that work seem to always have a downside or need to be cleaned up afterwards. This stuff works awesome and is about as simple as it gets to use. Just spray it on and let it do its thing. No need to clean the next day with acetone to neutralize the product. It will leave a whitish film after a few days that can simply be brushed away before painting. I've used this on my Sprinter, our excavators, our semi's, dump trucks, heavy equipment, etc. The rust goes away and unlike some of the other stuff I've tried it doesn't start growing again a month later. Highly recommended.Oh, it's more cost effective to get a gallon than the quart size. Make sure you compare prices before buying.
