Love these burger presses. This one makes 8 1/4 lb. patties in less than 5 minutes.
I have both the 1/4 lb. and 1/2 lb. burger presses in this brand and love them both for different purposes. Previous to getting these presses, I used burger presses that make one burger at a time. I have a couple sizes of these to make different sizes. The advantage of the single burger press is you can regulate the thickness of the burger. The disadvantages are that you must weigh the meat for each burger for consistency and you can make only one burger at a time. Making burger with this press is so much simpler, but you have less control over thickness. All you have to do is mix up 2 lbs. of your favorite burger mix. Plop the hunk of meat into one side of the press and push the meat into each section. When you put the other side on, it divides the meat into individual burgers. As you press down on the top, you can hear the air popping out of each cell. It is important to get as much air as possible out of the form to prevent freezer burn after freezing. This burger press makes 1/4 lb. burgers that are 3 1/2" in diameter and 3/4" thick and fit well in a regular sized bun. For us, this is on the small side as we would prefer burgers at least 1/3 lb. On the other hand, the 1/2 lb. burger is huge, especially after you add bacon, onion, tomato, lettuce, and whatever else you put on a burger. The 1/2 lb. size would great if they could be made thinner (less than 1/2 lb.), but then there would be air space above them that would cause freezer burn if left in the press for freezing. What I love about this hamburger press is: - It makes 8-1/4 pound burgers in a matter of a couple of minutes without having to weigh meat for each patty - The thickness of the hamburger is consistent for even cooking - It puts a dimple in the meat to prevent shrinkage and swelling of the meat - Pressing 8 burgers is super fast without weighing - Pressed burgers can be frozen and stored in the form which locks out air and prevents freezer burn. - Frozen burgers can also be stored in vacuum sealer bags. Although this size burger press may be on the small side for burgers, it's the perfect size for making breakfast sausage patties using bulk breakfast sausage. This size is perfect for the larger English muffins. My husband and I both love a good burger. Prior to getting these presses, we haven't had them very often because it was a hassle to put together the burger mix and then weight and press individual burger. Now I can freeze patties and all I have to do is cook them. Incidentally, the burgers cook great from frozen, so I don't have to allow time to defrost them before cooking. These presses have made dinner planning a whole heck of a lot simpler. UPDATE 8/13/21: I really did think these burger would be too small, but I was so wrong. The 1/2 pound were definitely too big by the time I added a mustard, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. Adding the same additions to this 1/4 pound burger, it was plenty big for my husband and I. I include sides of veggie greens and broasted potatoes or fries, and they are large enough without making us feel stuffed. These burgers are also the perfect size for regular sized buns. I use the 1/2 pound burger press for making Salisbury steak, chopped steak with gravy and onions, and patty melts. Without the bun and the burger toppings, the 1/2 pound is perfect for these dishes. UPDATE 09/13/21: After multiple uses, I noticed that sometimes it is very difficult to open the form after it is frozen - the form freezes to the contents inside it. The solution to this problem is to run warm water over both sides of the form. By doing this, the form opens easily and the product, usually burgers, can be easily removed. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update my review if my opinion changes and if I come up with more ideas to use them.

Great product!
I do not eat beef and I hate the way hamburger feels, with that being said, here's my review! My husband loves beef and loves his hamburgers. I purchase at least 3 lbs of hamburger 3 days of the week. 3lbs makes 8 hamburgers in this press. I chop up my onions, spinach, peppers, garlic, add my garlic, salt, etc. I mix the ingredients and then spread them out into the bottom of the tray. Make sure that the lid is pressed on tightly and all of the air is out. The process is super easy! Now, this is where people mess up. I didn't put this tray in the oven, but I honestly decided to buy it because I thought it was a silicone oven hamburger cooking sheet. THIS DOES NOT GO IN THE OVEN! Straight to the freezer only, NO MICROWAVE, I'm not even sure if it is dishwasher safe. Once the burgers freeze, you pop them out and store them however you store your burgers. I will say this saves money AND it allows for burgers to be perfectly made and even. In my home, it cuts down on "patty making time". I do not always freeze them Sometimes I just ad my mixture, start my grill and pop them out and then grill them. I just like that it takes away the million burger patty time. With 3 lb rolls of beef, I would usually make at least 12 burgers (he likes them tiny, so in his mind he is eating more) but with so many other things to take care of, this press frees up my time. It is certainly a time saver.

Great burger press, smart idea
This thing works pretty well. It actually works better than the 2 or 3 of the other burger patty makers I have used all of which I have purchased from amazon in the past. The burgers come out a bit thicker and smaller in circumference than I prefer, so I simply give them a bit of a squish as I am putting them between wax paper, or onto the grill and that worked great, however if you like a thicker burger then they would be perfect right out of the mold. I haven't used it to store them, but just make a bunch of patties to freeze, and the fact that this makes 8 at a time is very nice, especially as opposed to the others which only make 1 at a time. The 2 reasons I took down one star is because it is a bit difficult to clean (hand wash... though I believe it is machine washable) and because when you put the top on it does not quite cut all the way through the patties so you have to work them out a put or run a butter knife along the seams, so it would be nicer if they had a grove they went into so that it ensured that they were cut all the way through.

Makes Meal Prep a Breeze — Perfect Burgers Every Time
The Shape+Store Burger Master is one of those kitchen gadgets you don’t realize you need until you try it. I picked this up to help with bulk meal prep, and it completely changed the way I make burgers. The design is smart and simple — just press in your seasoned meat, seal it up, and you’ve got eight evenly shaped quarter-pound patties ready to freeze or cook. No mess, no wasted plastic wrap or Ziplocs, and the patties pop out easily without sticking. It holds exactly two pounds of ground meat (32 oz.), so I just portion everything out once, press it flat, and toss the container in the freezer. Because of the individual compartments, the patties don’t freeze together, and I can pop one or two out at a time as needed. It’s also great for things like sausage patties or veggie burgers. Cleanup is a breeze. It’s dishwasher safe and the soft silicone is super easy to rinse off even by hand. It doesn’t warp or crack in the freezer, and the material feels high quality — flexible but sturdy. Pros: Makes 8 perfect, uniform ¼ lb burgers Freezer-safe, no sticking or freezer burn BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and easy to clean Saves time and cuts down on plastic waste Great for batch prepping meat, veggie, or breakfast patties Cons: Takes up some freezer space (not huge, but something to consider) You’ll need multiple units if you’re prepping more than 2 lbs at a time Bottom Line: Whether you’re meal prepping or just tired of uneven hand-shaped patties, the Burger Master is a game-changer. Durable, easy to use, and actually fun — this thing earns its spot in my freezer. Highly recommend for any home cook who wants tasty, uniform burgers without the mess.

Useful for veggie burgers too
We use this for homemade veggie burgers and it generally works well for keeping a consistent size and shape that helps with cooking. I also appreciate being able to freeze them in this container and the flat shape makes it easy to store in my freezer. For veggie burgers, I find this tool works better a different way. With meat patties it sense to fill in the the open area and press down the mold section to divide the burgers. With veggie burgers I have found it better to fill in the mold/divided area and use the open area half to press down on them to create the individual burgers. With the right recipe, burger binder (We use egg substitute binder) and enough burger pressed into the sections, the burgers come out of the mold very well. Just let them sit a few minutes in the container to tighten up. I tend to cook them first before freezing them and I actually put them back into this container to freeze them. I do find this product to be a bit on the expensive side for being some injected mold silicone product. However, this product will last a lifetime since it is solid and I appreciate the fact that it is made in Canada, which is worth a premium in my opinion. Overall, I really appreciate this container and it has made making veggie burger a lot more consistent and reliable. I am happy to give it a 5 star rating.
