Good spread of light, very bright - works on curved vertical plates
Lighting vertical license plates are difficult. Bolt lights don't do the job due to the curve creating dark areas, and tying the wires together is a bit of a messy prospect. I created a mount and used this tag light. Works perfectly. Creates a fairly even wash of bright light accross the plate. Easy to wire. Now, if it will last, I'll be happy.

the light seems to be bright enough on the rear license plate on my spare tire mounted JK location. the issue I have is one of the screws that hold the two halves together was missing. It would have a bigger problem if I had not bolted through the assembly onto the bracket for my license plate. It has been installed about a month and so far it still works.
