I got this dress to be Mother Gothel from Tangled for my 4 year old (She's dressing as Rapunzel this year). This is not a mother Gothel costume per se, but in terms of authenticity, my 4 year old definitely approves. She knew exactly who I was supposed to be immediately.For a costume, the quality is pretty darn good. It's a bit thin so it may require a cloak in colder climates. Otherwise, I'd say it should breathe well. I generally wear a large or an xl and I found the 1x to be a little too big (opted to go up in size since costumes seem to run small). Luckily there is a tie so you can tighten it a bit on the back side. The fabric also feels a little stretchy. Im 5'8" and the length is very good. It sweeps the floor. A shorter person might have some difficulty without heels. Honestly, though it's too big, it seems very comfortable and I'm happy with the purchase overall.

This dress is beautiful! I ordered the medium and it fit perfectly! The fabric is very soft and not at all itchy as most costumes are. It is a beautiful burgundy color and the border trims on it is gorgeous and authentic looking. There is also a ribbon in the back that you can tie to make the dress fit better if its a little loose. The pink layer under the burgundy is a little see through but can be fixed by wearing some light/nude underwear or wearing some light-weight shorts. The headpiece has the same lovely pattern and the only complaint I have is that the little veils that drape from the head piece are a little wrinkled and might need some straightening out. Other than that, this is an amazing costume and I would definitely recommend it!

Purchased to wear to a RenFest wedding. I’m 5’1” and weigh about 122-125. This costume is good quality and fit great except I wore flats and really should have hemmed it an inch or two. I did NOT like the headpiece; it was way too tight and generally looked sort of stupid on me. So I took it completely apart and made a sort of head bandeau with the pieces, using a glue gun. That worked ok. I sew well but think it would likely have cost about twice as much for me to make something similar.

Great fit! I’m 230lb, 5’7”, size 16 and ordered the xxl. Fit is great with a bit of stretch. This is also flattering considering my size. Using this as Mother Gothel costume with my Rapunzel daughter. Arrived in about a week and half shipped from UK. Not too bad!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the material. It was thinker than a typical "Halloween costume". I still wore a tank top underneath and leggings because it got somewhat cold at night (50's). Head piece is kinda silly and it ran small. I didn't end up wearing it. Everything else was great about it. It fit me very well. The small fit me great, I am 5 ft 1 in & approx. 125lbs.

I am 5'4'' and size 12. The dress fit perfectly and was comfortable and is the perfect length. The headpiece is unusual so I am not sure if I will were that. Overall I am happy with this purchase

It's okay. Nothing spectacular. Just average, but for the price it is nice. So comfortable too.

I bought the XS for my daughter, who is five feet tall and weighs a hundred pounds. It's a little long on her, otherwise it fits very well and the headpiece isn't weird, it adds a genuine air of authenticity. She absolutely loves it.

A very nice costume for world book day, great material. Would recommend.

This dress is great, it fits well and is stretchy so it makes it very comfortable. I ordered a medium as I am normally about a size 14 in most clothes and it fits, I definitely wouldn't want it any bigger. I am 5ft 6inches tall so the length is perfect. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because the headpiece is far too small. My head measures 22.5 inches (i think is was about an inch too small) and I have had to take this to a seamstress to have it altered and have some elastic put at the back to I can wear it. Other than that I would recommend as a very reasonably priced fancy dress outfit.

Fits lovely and very comfortable to wear for a long period of time. I wore this for world book day at school and had it on for around twelve hrs and it still looked good. The only thing that let it down a little is the stitching on the end of the selves detail started to come undone a bit, as not finished properly. I fixed it easily buy tiring the cotton end together and that held nicely till in stitched it properly. I would still recommend this as good value for money.

It's ok for a silly dress up party, but would not be suitable for a more formal occasion, such as a medieval themed ball or banquet, for example. There seem to be some issues with length, according to other reviews, so to try and help explain: I am 5foot 6 and without shoes the dress touches the floor, exactly as on the model in the picture shown here. There isn't actually a pink underskirt, as the picture seems to imply - the pink material is simply a triangular panel that has been sown into the front. Similarly, the border across the hip does not actually go all around the dress, same with the border around the neckline - it does not continue around the back. This makes the dress pretty boring and unflattering to look at from behind, as it's basically just one huge sack of crushed velveteen material when looked at from the back. The finishing is ok, I had to cut off various threads that were still hanging off the seams, but nothing too drastic. The headpiece does fit me ok, but from experience when buying hats, my head does seem to be on the small side. However the bits of veil that are supposed to come down by the side of the face are smaller than in the picture shown, which makes them look quite silly. Plus, I think the model is actually wearing the headpiece incorrectly, as it contains more veil (not visible in the picture) that I think goes around the neck and chin (Google 'Medieval Headdress' and you'll see what I mean.) It looks ok when this veil part is worn around the front of the neck, but it still doesn't change the fact that the bits on the side of the face are too short.
