WuiilPowermaster 9612 Mastertorque Starter , Black

Awesome starter. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. I am a cheapskate and I am 100% happy that I bought this starter. I don't usually give 5 Stars either

I have been fighting heat soak issues with my original starter on my Camaro with aftermarket headers. Installed the 9612 starter today and the test drive was great it fired up while warm no problems. Time will tell but right now it 5 star review for me. Update: after driving several hours and waiting about 30 minutes the starter performed as expected. No more heat soak issues!!

I, really like this starter. I struggled to find a starter that would fit in my 55 Chevy with a 350 small block. The other starters I tried het the headers. This one was perfect and I like that the connection s were one the side not the front easy access and clean install. I went through the fit process went well. I used 1 shim and it was an excellent fit! Starts right up from the jump! Paid up to get it but it is worth it!

Have it on my chevelle and 72 GMC. Both have 350s. Cranks hard and fast. Doesn't heat soak either even with the cars having headers. Had for a couple years now and still works great. Good powerful starter.

I have no doubt that this starter is great. I was unable to clock the starter in a way that would allow me to use the staggered bolt pattern for a BBC while clearing the header tubes.

I read the reviews and thought I would give this starter a try. My 1998 Chevy 3500 with the 7.4 l ( 454) kept eating factor starters, it was about every other month, week, day. I bought this starter on a Thursday morning and had it delivered next day, I put it in on Saturday with no troubles. They sent shims but I didn't have to use them, and I was able to use all three bolt holes, and was a lot easier to hook all the cables and wires with them being on the side versus being on the top of the starter. I also liked the protected coating on it to help with the heat. I would recommend this product if you're having starter trouble.

Have a BBC 500 cu in 775 HP engine. Had the transmission shop build the transmission and they installed a huge OEM Stainless steel starter… I had many problems with it barely working. I pulled it out and replaced it with this starter… It works great every time… I love it…

It fits right in 1989 r2500 suburban with 454 and th400 trans. It was super close to flywheel and resolved in minutes with the manufacturer's additional shim which is about 12 bucks. Absolutely no complaints as starter shimming is common enough. Easy to adjust. Will keep them in mind next time one of my Chevys needs a starter. Once in it turns the engine over like a CHAMP! Love it.

So far I'm impressed, cranking ability is great and clearance with headers is much better than an oem starter. Only been on a short time so we will see how well it lasts but I typically replace oem starters yearly.

fit as advertised. Works great. Just don't over tighten the ignition wire nut. Fitting will come loose and fall out over time. I left the nut it came with tight and added another nut for the ignition wire. Other then that it fires up no problems.
