Fairy Companions Coloring Book - Fairy Romance, Dragons and Fairy Pets (Fantasy Coloring by Selina)

The media could not be loaded.  This is a book of very pretty adult fairies (female and male) designs along with their devoted and loving companions. They are shown with their dragons, gargoyles, and, in a number of designs, the adult fairies are holding one another in loving embraces. There are 25 different designs, however, what is great is that this artist provides 2 of each design, so you have a total of 50 designs to color (or to share depending on your mood.)As with the previous book that I have by this artist (“Enchanted”), the designs are quite elegant and have a great deal of detail in them. There are several “nudes” where hair and whatnot cover up the strategic areas so that the individuals are not technically nude. The designs flow without harsh corners or many straight lines.The designs are printed on one side of the page with the back left blank. The paper is the thin white that is typical for CreateSpace publishing and is not perforated. The binding is glued rather than sewn in. A few of the design merge into the binding, so removing the page might be a tad difficult without losing some portion of it but for the most part, the portion that would be lost is not essential to the design.The paper is fairly thin and all markers and gel pens leak through. As the back of each page is blank, you can put a piece of card stock or really heavyweight paper under the page you are working on to keep ink from ruining the rest of the book. My coloring pencils worked well with the paper.

Although Selina's books are called "adult coloring books" I bought this one along with 4 others (5 total) as Christmas gifts for my 7 year old who is very creative & artistic. I wanted something to inspire & challenge her more bc she & I both agree that kids coloring books are pretty much all the same cartoons with no vision. After receiving the books and reviewing them to make sure they would be appropriate, which they absolutely are, I found them to be absolutely beautiful & the perfect gift for her. When she opened them on Christmas she fell absolutely in love with them, and even better is that they have inspired her. Not only does she love learning how to color them like an adult artist (with blending, contouring, shading, ect.), but Selina has inspired & challenged her to learn how to create on a higher level with her own drawings, paintings, and so forth. I also love her coloring in Selina's books. I suffer from many health issues, and so I have found that whenever I get stressed or anxious I ask my daughter if I can color in one of her books (which she always says yes). I have found a new outlet coloring her beautiful drawings. They help me relax and clear my mind of whatever is happening within and around me. An even better thing about Selina's books is that there are 2 of every drawings in each book so my daughter & I can color the same picture together yet separately when we want and see how different yet beautiful we can color them.

Selina Fenech is my favorite artist, it's wonderful having coloring books from her. The only downside of them is the edges aren't perforated, making taking the pictures you've colored out of the book a chore. Since some images go right to the edge of the book. Personally, I cut off the binding to solve that. If anyone else does this, it makes the edge you cut at curl up. The paper she uses is a nice quality. I only use colored pencils on them, but that go on smoothly and I've never had a problem with the paper tearing no matter how heavy my hand is. The pictures themselves are her artworks, but you'll notice some don't have as many details as the originals. This is great for adding your own details to it. The images vary in difficulty. Almost all of them give you the freedom to be as creative as you want. Or as simple.

The images are lovely. The paper is awful. I have tested multiple colored pencil sets, both wax and oil based, on this book. I can't explain it, but the ONLY pencils that worked well on this paper were a 28-year-old set of Crayola kids pencils. They outperformed Polychromos, Derwent Drawing, Arteza Expert, Schpirrer Farben, Goldfaber, and Staedtlers. Maybe some other popular brands that I don't have would also work, and I can imagine Prismas probably working decently (I don't like them and gave away my set, so I can't test them). I'll use my old Crayolas to finish the coloring book, but I don't plan to buy any more of these until/unless a change is made in the paper used for printing.

Love all of the coloring books from Selina, quality coloring books I keep coming back to. I shared some of these around and actually tore the book in half to let some of my friends color these as well since they loved her artwork. I didn't have any issues with the glitter pens I use bleeding through the paper though I still took the precaution of pulling each page before coloring each time. I was very cautious since I know I normally color a bit heavier with my glitter pens and I didn't want to accidentally destroy any of the pages.

I absolutely love this book. The artwork is phenomenal and I absolutely love coloring them. The detail in the art is spectacular and it’s a great challenge to turn them into my own art. The paper is thick enough that most markers and pens won’t bleed through. Excellent book! Highly recommended for people wanting a challenge in their coloring.

Perfect gift for my mother in law who like me loves art and fantasy!! Perfect combination of both in this Fairy Companions coloring book. This product did not fail. The illustration is amazing. Can't wait to get a few for myself.

Great book! The selection of drawings look great, there are some terrific designs to keep you entertained when colouring. Reasonably priced and swift delivery, i would highly recommend and will definitely be buying other volumes.

A lovely book with great designs,with Selina,s books you get doubles of the same picture and that is handy if you have a nephew or niece who want to colour the same thing as you.

As always from selena fenech this is a beautiful book, amazing artwork and gorgeous fairies, dragons, pixies etc. Don't know where to start I love em all
