Sugar (added) does seem lower than other brands. I would prefer zero added sugar.I believe the label says 30 grams sugar to 40 grams total with 15 grams added sugar, so 15/40 is natural sugar.Adding extra sugar, nobody claims that is necessary to maintain texture or freshness, but I don't know production. Internet generally says adding sugar to dried fruit is to _improve taste_ but pineapple already contains plenty of natural sugar, so I don't consider that a taste improvement.Some reviews of competitor zero-sugar pineapple say it's perfect, while some complain about the texture.This brand tastes very good and slightly pleasantly 'tangy' -- maybe because it contains less added sugar that would cover up citric acid zing.I will likely try another vendor with zero added sugar and come back to this brand if a zero sugar option doesn't work for me.
