Excellent fenders
These fenders work great on my 2017 Trek Verve 3 with Schwalbe Marathon Cross 700x38c tires. These tires are not the OEM tires which are 700x45c. Fairly easy to install because it is mostly preinstaled already. Great coverage. I ride on a road to a trail. I used one of the provided small bolts to attach the front fender to the fork crown from the back. I got too much resistance when I used a long bolt that goes through the entire fork crown. Attaching the front fender to the back of the fork crown also gives an additional two inches of coverage at the bottom which helps keep debris off the drivetrain. The bottom of the front fender is slightly below the level of the bottom bracket on my bike. I don't have to wash the bike and clean the chain after every ride anymore even though I am going through mud. No problem with clearance from rocks, etc. This is to replace the Planet Bike Hybrid Hardcore fenders which works a whole lot better than no fender at all, but the front fender did not extend far down enough so I was still cleaning quite often. The other option was to get the Cascadia mudflaps and put them on the Hybrid Hardcore fenders. I put the Hybrid Hardcore fenders on my old bike instead. I would get another set of Cascadias for my wife's bike, but she does not want any fenders at all, nor does she ride through the wet or mud. Great customer service from Planet Bike, by the way.

High quality, however....
Installation on my 2015 Trek Crossrip Comp had a couple of glitches.First, the hole in the front fork was slightly too small to accommodate the long bolt so I drilled it out which wasn't too hard as the fork is carbon. Next, the hole in the sest stay bridge didn't go all the way through but fortunately I found a small threaded bolt in my parts bin that seemed to work.I had to use one of the long spacers in order to attach the left side brace to clear the disc brake caliper.I had to fuss and fidget to get both fenders adjusted properly but they seem OK now.I haven't ridden with them yet but bouncing the bike doesn't reveal any rattles or noises.Time will tell if they hold up well. They do look great on the bike I must admit.UPDATE 10/15/2019:I completed 34 harsh miles on our local trail which is in need of maintenance so the ride was bumpy and rough. The fenders performed well generally and did what I expected e.g. keeping trail dust, mud, and debris off the bike and kept stones from hitting the bottom bracket and downtube. They weren't noisy and it easy to forget they were there. So far so good.

Safety note
I love the way they look and the light weight. They fit beautifully, and looked better than my old fenders, which were too small for my new touring tires. Unfortunately, my evaluation after only a few months of riding is that they aren't very sturdy and can represent a safety issue. On about my 10th l ride after mounting the fenders, I heard a rattle. I checked the fenders for clearance. They were fine. The next day, while on a longer "test" ride with loaded panniers, the rear fender came loose at the front edge, where it bolts to the frame. The bolt was still there, securely in the frame, but the fender material had failed due to vibration. I attempted a road repair, but the thin material of the fender had split, so the hole for the retaining bolt was open ended. Instead of removing the fender, I put it back by loosening then tightening the bolt over the material, hoping the clamping action was enough. I tried riding home, and it seemed okay outside of the noise, but suddenly the fender front of the fender came loose, jamming between wheel and frame, locking up the rear wheel. I was going aabout 17mph, while I was in an intersection. I managed not to fall, but barely, causing me to swerve into the fast lane. I was very lucky. I managed a temporary repair using a luggage tag strap I had in my pannier, but a full repair will require some McGyver engineering and maybe a rivet gun. Very disappointed in the flimsy material and lack of durability in use. Otherwise, the fit and look was good.

Lightweight & Effective
I put these fenders on a 2010 Trek 520. My tire size is 700 x 32. The black goes well with the overall bike design. I currently use my bike primarily for daily commuting (16 mi. round trip) and day trips 20-70 miles. I am trying to get it geared up for overnights as well.I think these are an important addition to any commuting or touring bike. Before I purchased these, I had half fenders on both the front and back of my bicycle and they were very ineffective. I would still get spray in my face from the front tire, and spray on my trunk bag from the rear tire. After installing these and riding in the rain, I am pleased with their overall effectiveness. In addition to protecting me from road spray during inclement weather, they also protect my frame from rocks/pebbles on a daily basis. I haven't heard a single ping off of my down tube since installing them. You need the correct crescent/hex wrenches to install these. Installation isn't 'difficult' per say, but it is definitely time consuming. You have to tweak/tighten the bolts just right to get the fenders to sit proportionally symmetric (or is it symmetrically proportionate?) around your tires. I don't remember the installation length exactly, but I think it was roughly three episodes of Breaking Bad worth of time spent in the living room fiddling with them.I would definitely recommend these to a friend. If you are a busy person or don't have access to the correct tools, it might be worth having them installed at a bike shop. I'm giving these 5 stars, because I don't mind if a product requires a little elbow grease to get right, as long as when it is setup it works great. I would categorize these as such. However, they lose half a letter grade for the extra effort required, A- overall.
