Montana Woodworks Homestead Collection Day Bed with Pop Up Trundle Bed, Stain & Lacquer Finish

I ordered this unfinished; I must admit about halfway thru finishing, I was wishing I had ordered it finished. BUT, the end result was exactly what we were looking for. It. Is. Awesome.

WARNING WARNING WARNINGThis whole bed I thought was going to be what we were looking for but the wood on the bed was rough to the touch it had not been sanded properly in alot of places. There was a chunk of wood on the bottom of the frame that had been damaged. The metal frame was all scraped up down to bear metal. I think this was a returned bed they sent us it certainly was not new. W hat a huge disappointment. Now I need to return all the bedding and mattresses I purchased too. What a hassle I will never buy from this company again. My husband sent them pictures of all the damage. Now they will not even come and pick up the damaged bed what a disaster it is dealing with this company.

I have yet to put this together, but it seems like a nice piece of furniture. However, the polydeck for the mattress came with animal footprints (mud?) all across the surface. The metal frame was also incredibly dusty and dirty for a "new" piece of furniture. After quite a bit of scrubbing I got most of the footprints off. If I hadn't been in a hurry for the item it would have been returned. Who knows what's running around in the warehouse.

It took way longer to ship than expected and was shipped by a moving/shipping company. The bed itself had one flaw, a chip in one of the wood pieces about 3 inches by 1.5. Assembly wasn't easy, but we got it done, the brackets that connect the bed to the supports don't seem to be that sturdy, but we will see. It looks nice and we hope it will last for many years! We finished it with an oil finish, looks great!
