Metal and Mechanics
I spent way too long looking through junk watches on here and also bought one and returned it because of how little accurate info there is on these pages. I will tell you what I wish I could have read so you can save time. To be clear, I bought the double half hunter version with the white roman numerals on the face; these reviews show up for every option on this product page, so I want you to know which one I'm talking about. Even though this watch is cheap, it's much more for your money than the ten dollar plastic toy watches amazon keeps shoving at you. This one IS MADE OF METAL. Why that is so hard to write on a product page, I do not know. This watch's product page, thankfully, says it's 'alloy' and that is accurate. The material is solid and feels right. This watch IS SELF WINDING, another thing constantly misslabeled on the ad sponsored watches. That means it has no battery and runs entirely on the internal mechanism you can see inside. Normally I would call that a 'mechanical pocketwatch' but we seem to be playing fast and loose with adjectives these days. The top pops up, you wind it, you set the time, click it down, and you're done. I generally wind my pocketwatches every day, it's just part of wearing one. If one is out if rotation, it just stops and I set it again the next time I use it; not a big deal. The first time you wind this watch it might be scary because it keeps on going as you turn the dial and the second hand stays still. Don't worry, just gently turn again and again until you feel resistance, then stop (it will be many turns). Hold the watch in a few different positions (don't hit it or anything) and it should start up. The mechanism runs on a coiled metal flat wire that you can see winding up as you do it. It's the watch's first time ticking, so it needs to be fully wound up to get going and the tension then needs to do its work. From there it will act just like any other pocketwatch. The ticking is audible, not very quiet, but also not so loud. It's the volume of....a pocketwatch. I have no other frame of reference for you. The cover of the watch face is acrylic and not glass, that's where the money savings comes in, I suppose. It's still nice looking and only feels cheap when that part is touched. All in all, very good value for the money. If you want it for a costume, good buy. If, like me, you needed one in an emergency and you normally wear pocketwatches, this one is better than expected and you just might slip it into rotation on your silver days. The chain has an annoyingly branded clip, if that matters to you. I always snip the clips to fasten the chain to my waistcoat button holders, so I did not mind.

Please make a red version! Love the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Black watches!
I absolutely love the look of these! I love the style of the open watch casing with the time etched, and the skeleton look throughout. I wear these watches as a fashion accessory in the varying colors of Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Black. I’ve included an image generated by Chat GPT of the watch in Red with a matching chain, and I would absolutely love it if one of your watches could be made in this exact color! I think many more might agree!

Good watch for occasional use.
This isn't an expensive watch, but it looks good and can really compliment the right suit. I will wear it with a nice dark charcoal grey suit with a navy blue shirt. The watch is perfect for this. It keeps time well. The only issue is that it is small. I have large hands and it is just tiny for me. But I will continue to use it. Recommended for the person who switched out watches all the time and is on a budget. For what it is, five stars!

Small but accurate
Smaller than I thought it would be but it’s for my son so it’ll be a good first pocket watch. One of the only ones I’ve found with the correct Roman numerals on it so there’s that.

Stopped Working After ONE Week, DO Not Purchase.
Stopped working after literally one week, I kept it winded and everything then out of nowhere it stopped. I do not recommend.

I love this watch
I absolutely love this watch! It is pretty and so far sturdy, and keeps time well. I forgot to wind it one day and I was actually holding it in my hand when it stopped, so I was able to immediately wind it again and it still works wonderfully. Setting the time can be a little hit or miss, but once you get it set, it stays there unless you let it wind down. Winding it and putting it on has become part of my morning routine. I had bought it thinking to wear it as a necklace and found that it is a little heavier than I had expected. The watch chain that it comes with is the perfect length for me. I have been wearing it all day, every day since unpacking it. I love that you can see the gears and inner design, and since I don't like wearing wrist watches all that much, having the ability to carry a pocket watch is awesome. I have had it for a week and so far it is working fabulously, and the price was well in my range, so when it does break, as all things do eventually, I may just order the same one again. Love this watch!

Watch keeps perfect time!
I bought this watch back in Jan. 2023 and waited to write review because I wanted to evaluate watch functionality. It keeps accurate time, winds well, opens well and is beautiful. I’m very happy thus far . It arrived on time and in perfect condition. The packaging was great. The chain clasp was a bit hard to attach but with a little bit of force it secured. I recommend it is a value at the price. I use daily and wind once in the morning and it hasn’t stoped working it’s been continually going. It does take about 40 winds to get started at first. Also it does not have a glass face cover or glass back cover witch is fine as it is also covered by hinged metal covers that protect it from damage. I think safer! Read the product description for casing etc.

Great value!
I purchased this watch for my dad's birthday. I wanted something that was vintage and memorable , but not fake-looking. I was surprised to find a real pocket watch for only $25 that had the look I wanted. I don't know how long it will last, but it looks great and is working well so far. I gave 5-stars because it not only has a beautiful appearance, and it come with detail instruction on how to wind it properly or set the time. To its credit is that the user manual has several languages. I've never even seen a pocket watch before so was thoughtful as to how it worked.
