Russell Athletic Men's Dri Power Full Zip Fleece Hoodie

Ordered Medium....This is high quality and exactly what I needed and would expect a higher cost. This is not thin, has 2 layers. I washed it and dried it on high because I wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to "baby" this thing in the laundry. It fits me perfectly, but I am 5' 7" and weigh 145 lbs. Anyone much bigger I would go with the Large. I am posting a photo of me wearing it after washing and drying. Don't usually do this and excuse the Balaclava, but didn't want my face in it. I know this type of review with a photo will help others, so that is why I am posting it.

Really love the hoodie, but be warned that it shrinks after washing/drying it for the first time. I had a pretty bad experience with mine, but this is my own fault I believe, and hopefully this review helps someone avoid my mistakes.I usually wear a large shirt (5'9", 210'), so naturally, I ordered the large hoodie. It arrived and was HUGE - it looked like a dress on me.Because there was nothing wrong with the manufacturing or whatnot, I returned it and it cost me like $9 (on a $25 purchase) to send it back. I promptly ordered the medium, which ended up fitting perfectly and I was very happy...until I washed it.Now I've got a hoodie that doesn't fit. Buyer be warned. It shrinks. Stick with the size you usually wear and don't be alarmed when it comes in huge.

Love the thickness, softness, and overall feel of the material....has everything I want in a sweater to wear to the gym on a cool California morning. Only thing was that XL was way too big for me.....much larger than the usual XLs that I have bought in other brands.....I'm 6' tall and about 200lbs.....the XL on me looks just like Sherman Klump (the Nutty Professor) just changed into Buddy Love......waaaay too big, and there was no way this material would shrink to a L size after washing and drying. So I'm going to return it for a L size and see how that fits.

I LOVE my Russell hooded zip up men's sweatshirt in Navy. I am a woman and this sweatshirt is heavy duty and not as flimsy as many women's sweatshirts are. I stayed at a fish camp in Alaska this summer and wore this every day both at the cabin and on the fishing boat. It was a warm cozy fit when the temperature was in the upper fifties and low sixties on the windy Cook Inlet.

People mentioned how warm this jacket was, and I thought really how warm could a sweatshirt be. But seriously, something is going on with this thing--super warm. So that's a real thing.Otherwise, great sweatshirt/jacket. Fit is a little more on the loose side, less of a trim fit, which is what I was looking for.Two downsides: the hood string is suuuuuuper long (why is it so long??), and the polyester in the jacket does cause some pilling. Neither of these is the end of the world.

It's cut pretty big. So of your a 2x looking for something roomy, order the 2x not the 3x lol.Thats said, the stitches are holding together fine after 4 washes.4 washes because this thing sheds worse than a cheap towel. White cotton everywhere. Im just trying to get it to where it doesnt put clobs of lint on everything i wear. Ill probably have to take the "shaver" to it and then roll, roll, roll.I cant help but think if I'd spent +$10 i coulda ordered one with less work in just wearing it.Meh.

Like I expected from a Russell Athletic product: this hoodie fit right, was very well made (even a sturdy brass zipper pull and taped interior seams). I keeps me nicely warm in the freezers and dairy coolers at the supermarket where I work at night. There wasn't excessive shedding of the interior knap like you see with cheaper quality fleece when I washed it the first time.

I had a grey Russell Athletic Men's Dri Power Full-Zip Fleece Hoodie for many years and loved it. Eventually, after many many years of use, it was getting worn, so I decided to replace it. This turned out to be easier said than done. The company said that they didn't have stock in the summer when I first tried to replace it and I needed they said to wait until cold weather for them to have new stock. They suggested Amazon but AMazon he no stock either at that time.I was also kind of worried since several reviews on the Russell site and on Amazon had complaints from purchasers claiming that the sizes were too large or too small, and it was mentioned that they were made somewhere new ... I forget where.... perhaps in Asia or England someplace. My original hoodie sweatshirt was made in Mexico.Also, I wanted to purchase some more "XL Pro Cotton" T-Shirts which I have had for years, but Russell advised they had discontinued this type of T-Shirt, which was heavy-weight cotton and had a pocket on the upper left breast area.So when cold weather returned, I tried to order a replacement for my Russell Athletic Men's Dri Power Full-Zip Fleece Hoodie, but the Russell company had only Grey and Blue and I had decided I wanted to try black this time. So I tried Amazon again, and Jackpot Amazon did have it in Black. I was still worried about the size based on the reviews last year, but I ordered XXL anyway as I had before, and it fits perfectly ... just like the old one.This new one is made in Honduras it says rather than Asia or England or whereverthe ones people complained about the size said theirs was made, and this one is 50% Cotton and 50% Polyester just like my old one was. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Strange fit, not what I expected from Russel Athletic

Not a bad item for general casual wear around the house etc. Bought a Medium and it fits properly and comfortably. Not too tight or too loose. Like the fact the inside of the hood is lined with the same fabric as the outside of the garment. Washed up ok. A tiny bit of pilling is visible, but that is to be expected with an item at this price. Also, in our experience, navy blue sweat shirts/pants items tend to pill less in general than grey ones.

I was initially impressed by the quality of the product, however, I quickly realized that the fit is not suited for everyone. Standing 5'9 and 175 lbs, the sweatshirt in size small was close fitting on my chest and the sleeve length was acceptable. Unfortunately, there is an excessive amount of material in the upper arm area. This can be practical for those that prefer a looser fit, but I favor a more fitted look.

Please note for sizing purposes this will fit larger on me as I am a 5 foot 9, 145 female purchasing a male sweater. However I wanted a comfy plain black zip up hoodie and this is exactly that. It has been through two wash cycles and seems to be holding up just fine. Its comfy, much heavier and thicker material than some zip ups I have purchased. Overall I'm pleased.
