General Ecology Seagull IV X-1 Replacement Cartridge RS-1SG

Fit well, filters as expected

We've been using Seagull since the early 90's. If you're gonna do it, you should do it right! The filter is pricey but you will be drinking clean water for up to a year. We tried the "cut rate spread" one time and were disappointed with the quality.

I said the flavor was 5 stars because it is flavorless as water should be. We had a seagull water filter system put in the house almost 30 years ago and it is still going strong. These filters are amazing and very easy to install.. Why get bottled water and put plastic into the environment if you can get perfect water coming out of your faucet? My sister lent me her Berkey and we could honestly not taste the difference and the water from the seagull actually has fewer contaminants. My sister lives in an apartment so can't install a seagull water system. This takes up much less real estate in my small kitchen.

We had a lot of different potable water sources during our 11000 mile round trip to Alaska. We never had any problems with drinking water. I recommend this replacement cartridge if you have the General Ecology Water Filtration System.

Good product but over priced. Same filter by other manufacture is 40% less

I have been buying Seagull IV cartridges to filter water for cooking and drinking for more than 30 years and have found them effective and long-lasting. My recent experience purchasing from AquaStar Distributors was especially positive. When installing the cartridge I inadvertently pinched the water supply line and mistakenly thought I had been shipped a defective cartridge. Aquastar was extremely responsive in replying to my email request for guidance, even express-mailing a backup cartridge that I could use to quickly determine the source of the problem I was having.
