Clint Eastwood: The Universal Pictures 7-Movie Collection [DVD]

Gave this to someone who is a "Westerner" fan, especially Clint Eastwood, and he is really enjoying it.

I received this box set of Clint Eastwood on the 1st of November in GOOD condition from AMAZON PRIME!! I played one of my FAVORITE movie ‘HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER’ and WOW!! The audio and video was outstanding just like if I was in a movie!!! I have a surround sound set-up and this movie was sooo beautiful to view!!! KUDOS!!Thank you AMAZON ,again, for listing this box set in your inventory!!!

Can't beet the price and there are more then one movie on the DVD. How can you go wrong.

These movies are all Eastwood classics. They were filmed well enough to enjoy on a big screen TV without any issues. The disc cover indicates that the audio (sound) portion of these were recorded with DTS (Digital Theater Sound which is the biggest competitor to Dolby Sound) and the included previews were recorded in Dolby Sound. Unfortunately when the movies were made stereo sound was not in vogue as it is today. So you need to realize that the audio of these movies are in MONO even though they use DTS and Dolby. So if you have a surround sound system like I do please remember that the surround speakers will be quiet which is somewhat disappointing after all the money I spent on them. But a way around this is to play the movies with a mode like All Channel Stereo (like my Marantz 6015 has) which plays the sound in all of your speakers at the same time. Not ideal and not really stereo but that is all you can do.

My brother and I really enjoy Clint’s movie Coogan’s Bluff. America sure was a different place when that movie was made.

As much as I've enjoyed Eastwood throughout his long career as a movie actor, producer and director, I most enjoy his latest movies where he plays a somewhat set-in-his-ways, crotchety, VERY REALISTIC old man!This set of DVDs has helped to make my Eastwood collection almost complete!

Clint Eastwood always makes good movies a great actor nothing nothing better than watching one of his movies

These are great titles and it is representative of Clint Eastwood's movie career not his tv career. No duds here.

Sometimes I think I could watch Eastwood films all day... and this set would be about enough for that. The seven films range from ordinary to outstanding--personal preference likely determining which is which.For me, the gem is "Coogan's Bluff," fun to watch and compare with the McCloud TV series that sprang from it. It's a step in Eastwood's growth from the Man with No Name to Dirty Harry. But all of the films have something winsome and entertaining about them.But just four stars for the set because of the almost nonexistent supplements. Some good background celebration of "Play Misty for Me," but other than that nothing. The presentation is little more than a streaming service in a box. I found it worth it because I won't have to worry they're leaving the service soon, but your mileage may vary.Definitely a set for Eastwood fans, but if you're an Eastwood fan it's an entertaining set.
