Code 8 [DVD] [2020]

I just finished watching this and I want to see it again already. That's how great it is.This story follows an alternate reality where a small percentage of the population have special powers. Instead of being held as heroes like we normally see on screen they are treated as second class citizens. Their powers are feared and they are made to register themselves with the government like criminals.Conor is the main character, played brilliantly by Robbie Amell. His mother is ill and they can't afford medical treatment for her. He is offered a shady job to use his powerful electric abilities, needing the cash he takes it. This leads him down a dark and dangerous path, under the mentorship of Garrett (Stephen Amell).I really enjoyed the sci-fi element of this movie and all the different abilities you get to see. People melting metal with their bare hands, the electric sparks flying out of Conors eyes and hands, robot cops. However, even if you took away all the magnificent special effects the heart of the story would be enough to stand alone.I would thoroughly reccomend this to anyone but if you're still unsure go watch the short movie. If you like that buy this because it is 10x everything you get from the short. Robbie and Stephen have put their heart and soul into this project and it shows!

A good film with a good story, a bit lacking in content at the end, but the the film does not lack in action. It could have filled out some of the characters more, as some seemed like they should play a big part in the film but their stories fell short, such as one of the cop's. However I don't regret the purchase as I've spent the same on high budget films and at the end been left thinking that I've been conned and sold a Ferrari with no engine.

It's ok overall but is a feasible world where people with extra powers (i.e. different) are rendered unlawful unless registered and then descriminated against anyway.This is more of a cop and heist movie. Enhanced people forced into illegal underground activities simply to survive.Heart felt, empathetic, hardcore, dirty, double dealings foul the lives of all.Interesting window of a near future world. Though not sure what the final scene is about.

i did enjoy this movie. good plot and action.

Absolutely loved it especially the story where people with power are marginalised it's no wonder a portion of them had to go into drug trade every one role was done amazing specially Stephen and Robbie amell also really got hooked on Conner and his mom relationship plus I got to say that code 8 has se great cgi congratulations to the director and to Stephen amell for his first post arrow thing

I prefer the original short on YouTube's DUST, Sci Fi shorts channel which is a concise and well presented story. While the full-length feature evidently has a bigger budget, slightly better special effects (slightly overplayed in my view) and more readily recognisable actors, it feels like the original idea has essentially been padded out. It's still a good film with a sensible resolution, but it's not as punchy or as 'realistic' as the DUST vignette, in my opinion.

Unlike many of the sci to movies this has a good story line and excellent graphics. Action is fast and visual affects especially the drones and enforcers look real and not computer generated affects. Great pity it was not available to view in cinemas to really appreciate the effort put into it. Character dialogue was flowing. All round very solid delivery.

ok film not worth the money to rent it and I cant belive amazon are trying to rent films for good money that have bean on telly for years.they wanted £3.49 for a film that was on tv for nothing
