I highly reccommend for all fish enthusiasts!
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to wait a little before reviewing so I could give a good and honest review. I have had a lot of smaller fish tanks as well as a few larger ones and this fish tank is by far the BEST I have ever had. I got it for my Betta fish, Alpha, whom seemed depressed in his smaller betta cube and was beginning to develop fin rot against my best efforts to prevent it. I have had this tank for 2 weeks and within that time my Betta has almost completely recovered from his tail rot. He is so happy and swims around all day instead of just sitting in a corner. Since the BiOrb is curved my Betta can not see his reflection so I never worry about Mirror syndrome and instead of looking for that "other fish" He looks for me :)Other reviewers mention that the air flow is too strong for Bettas, which is true, but if you pinch the airflow just enough you still have enough airflow so the BiOrb can do it's job, but doesn't force your Betta to swim against the current. I pinched the tube and then taped it to the back of the Orb so it would maintain the airflow. The BioOrb does an amazing job keeping the tank clean and fresh. To help the process even more I bought Marimo Moss balls which I thought were a little gimicky at first, but not only do they provide great coverage for my Betta, but they also help maintain the environment in the BiOrb. Within 30 minutes of putting them in my tank they started to produce oxygen bubbles and since I pinched the tube I didn't have to worry about a lack of oxygen for my fish nor plant waste since the Marimo balls don't produce any. I also went to the BiOrb website and bought decorations that they sell for the BiOrb specifically. The decorations are a little expensive, but the quality is so worth it and once you have such quality decor you will never settle for those cheap decorations at petsmart again.I think my only problem with the BiOrb is that you are somewhat forced to buy more for it and it already pricey. To me I think it is worth it to have such a good tank. It does not come with any decorations which is not that big of a deal, but they only give you 1lb of ceramic material for filtration and bacteria growth on the bottom. It offers very little coverage for the bottom of the tank and it is not really enough to weigh down lighter decorations. I bought 2 more 1lb bags of ceramic material and I only needed one more. Overall including the tank, decor from BiOrb and Marimo Moss balls I spent $180. It is bit expensive, but I don't think I will ever need to buy another tank again. Maybe a larger BiOrb for the future when I want more fish again. This is the link to their online store [...]

Beautiful tank, recommend going larger if you can
Absolutely love the look of this Biorb tank! Tank arrived as promised in perfect condition, no scratches or damage, all the parts in great working condition and clear set up directions. Decided to convert to different medium and setup as identified by The PondGuru on Youtube in order to cut down on cost of filter changes & the tank has done well with zero algae build up. However in this essentially 4 gallon tank I have live plants including Marimo balls, a Betta fish and Cory catfish which is a rather significant bio-load for this small tank. By the time I added my Chola wood to provide a resting place for my Betta & maintain the PH which I was struggling to balance, my Marimo balls, 2 fish one, and an artificial plant to cover the bubble tube, this tank is almost too full. When I add another tank I will most likely upgrade to another Biorb ~16gallon just to minimize the maintenance routine and provide more space for my fish. The way the tank is shaped really draws out the ability to view the contents and watch the fish activity, which is spectacular! It also makes it more difficult to clean, because of the small top opening, but not impossible and well worth the trade-off. Highly recommend these unique Biorb tanks, but consider making it easy on yourself and go ahead and upgrade to a larger size in order to more easily maintain water quality for your aquatic pets.

Looks beautiful but is VERY difficult to clean and to care ...
Looks beautiful but is VERY difficult to clean and to care for... I blame this thing for the death of my fishy. He'd dine fine in a basic bowl with frequent water changes...didn't even last a full month once I moved him into this death trap! After him, I had another little fish go "missing"...he got buried under the rock substrate that they include with the aquarium..and he died. It's all design and no function. Parts are not universal so you're locked into spending tons if money trying to buy their products to fix the damn thing up and get it cleaner since normal cleaning doesn't work well enough... Don't do it unless you have a LOT of free time, extra cash to spend, and don't really mind losing a fee lives along the way.

Very happy with my aquarium !!!!
The media could not be loaded. I love this aquarium !!!! It's a perfect size for my living room. It's not too noisy, for me it's acceptable. Very easy to assemble as well, even to someone who is a fee fries short of happy meal like me. Light weight and so beautiful with the aquarium plants and other decorations. You can't go wrong with it ! I haven't added fish yet, but surely it'll turn out well !!

Very decorative, somewhat functional
This Baby biOrb is designed to hold exactly the configuration suggested by the promotional picture: 2 aquarium plants and 2-6 small coldwater fish. It is too small for goldfish, so that pretty much leaves minnows (or you could add a heater). They recommend you add no more than 2 minnows every four weeks, which is unfortunate since minnows prefer to school with fish they're familiar with, but unless you have another tank to put the other minnows in, you're going to have to buy a new batch from the pet store every so often. It comes with its own special ceramic gravel, which is too light and shallow to root more than a couple plants in it. I find that my own plants keep drifting up to the surface because the gravel is so lightweight. The base of the tank is round and completely flat, so I recommend putting a trivet or cork pad under it to catch any water drip and prevent slippage. I use a Le Creuset trivet which fits perfectly. The filtration setup is pretty strange: it's a disposable filter made of a plastic sponge and some activated carbon. They want you to buy a new filter from their particular filter brand every four weeks. It seems like it would be well-suited for an office environment or a kitchen. Because of the hum of the filter and the quiet splash of the bubbles, it might be a bit noisy for a bedroom, though it's really not very noisy at all.
