This is a wonderful art activity book for children. The book opens to reveal a story about mermaids. The left hand page is white and contains the story and the right hand page is black and has a line picture. If you use the stylus (which fits neatly in an elastic holder, so it can’t be lost) to scratch at the lines, or colour in the picture, you will reveal the colours underneath the page. I have purchased similar bookmarks for my children, where the colours were revealed by scratching off the top coat of the paper, and this worked just as well.As well as all the fun of revealing the colours beneath the pictures, there are pages at the back for sketches and for your child to write their own story. My daughter also enjoyed colouring the little pictures beneath the printed text on the ‘story’ pages. All in all, this was great fun, which kept my daughter occupied for ages - there are 64 pages in the book, so loads to do. I would imagine this would be a fantastic choice for a long flight, or car ride, and you can keep it to read afterwards. There are other stories in the series and I will certainly be purchasing more.

Lovely book, makes a change from the M&D scratch cube. Doesn't have a huge amount of pages but theses things aren't made to last forever!

I bought 3 of these as Christmas day "small" presents for my daughters. While they are fantastic I've rated as 4 stars simply because of the price. At £6 they would unequivocally have been 5 stars, but at £10 they drop.Put simply, these are great books and they really engaged my daughters. They have provided hours (as in "2-4 hours") of fun and they absolutely loved them. However they "run out" because there is only so much they can do with them.I absolutely don't regret buying them, but would probably not repeat the purchase given the price bracket.Great books and entertainment, just a little too expensive for what they are.

Lovely scratch book with bright colours, my 6 year old found it very absorbing, as did her friends.
