The ipad should come with a charger. Simply will not work once the battery is dead.Selection of cover is a matter of personal choice, just make sure it is designed for ipad air 2 so that it fits. I don't use a cover with mine.

since this ipad is certified by apple, will i be able to purchase the applecare after receiving it?
