Exciting!
This trilogy is exciting. Every chapter leaves the reader wanting more. If I had the time to do so, I could have sat and read this trilogy from page one book one, straight through the last page on book three! If you have read 13 Treasures and 13 Curses, 13 Secrets will not let you down. There are new twists and turns, new characters, and a great new plot; but still filled with the lovable people from the first two.I still want more, but maybe that's because I enjoyed reading the story so much, and fell so in love with the characters- I didn't want to be done spending time with them. Some parts were slightly predictable, but finding out the why behind the predictions, was interesting. I loved finding the many clues and solving the puzzles with Fabian, Tanya & Rowan. When I read the last page of the last chapter, I was like, "What?! The end?!" The epilogue, however, ended the story fine.I would not be mad if Michelle Harrison decided to write a fourth book, but am totally ok with the end if she doesn't.*I originally ordered this series for my 8 year old daughter (an advanced reader), but wanted to read 13 Treasures (book 1) to see if it was an age appropriate story, but after reading it, I had to read the next two books! However, It's just enough too dark- she'll have to wait. I will not be handing this trilogy over to my daughter just yet. I think she'll need to be 12 or older before I let her read it.

End of Series leaves door open (spoiler alert)
The final book in the 13 Treasures Trilogy was a continuation of the book 2, but definitely left the door open for another story. If author had a plan to wrap up the story end, she changed her mind and left many things unresolved. We don't know what happens to the characters for the rest of their lives, including the fairy antagonist (is he really dead?), and never resolves the problem with the Fairy kingdom's practice of taking human babies and leaving changelings. It seems the human world is still at risk from the Fairy world, and we never really understand why the fairy world does this. I would have given it a 4 star except that the conflict seemed to rehash the same elements in book 1 and 2, and It was a bit of a let down. It also seemed that the protagonists did not learn to deal with the problems and repeated some of the same mistakes, and I was disappointed that there was no new insights or powers revealed. I was surprised that the saga completely replaced the main protagonist rather than circle around to the first. It didn't seem fair. The fairy heroine in the end was unexpected and undeveloped. Then there was the side story regarding Red's natural mother--whats up with that? In any case, I recommend it if only to continue another segment of the 1st and 2nd book. And I won't be surprised if a book 4 or more turns up.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS
This was a stunning conclusion to the trilogy, and it did not disappoint. I found the first book at my School's book fair for less than $5. I was expecting a poorly written novel, mediocre at best. However, I was amazed by the deep plot from the beginning. I think the characters are wonderful, but Tanya is a little more shallow than she should be. Otherwise, the book is filled with mystery, magic, and, best of all, magic. I love how different elements were incorporated to create this book. It is a little creepy at parts, I do admit, but it is just at the right level. Everything- talking scenes, action, etc.- is perfectly balanced. If you loved the first two books of this series, you will not be disappointed!

Best Book Ever
Best book ever. I literally could not stop reading. During points in the book my heart actually started racing, she makes the book seem so real. There are many unexpected twists that force you to read the next chapter. She is a great author. She will have something huge happen to a few people then end the chapter and the next chapter is about the other people so you have to read that to find out what happens next in the previous chapter. But then something happens in that chapter and you just can't stop!Rowan is in much trouble in this book, she gets herself in deeper each moment. She has the help of her friends along the way.. but the question is if she can trust them. Who knows what 'secrets' they've been hiding. This is a must read fantasy book about fairies and changelings.

extremely wonderful
I absolutely loved this trilogy. I thought it was extremely well written and highly entertaining. I'm not sure I agree on some of the age recommendations. I'm a teacher, and honestly I would think a seventh grader and up would thoroughly enjoy and fully comprehend this. Any younger, and it may be enjoyed, but not fully comprehended. Vigorously I'm making a blanket statement but I realize there could be exceptions. As an adult, I found this interesting partly because a lot of the central characters are not necessarily under 20. Several are even seniors! There are a few curse words, just fyi. But they are few and far between. Maybe at most three in each book. Highly recommended.

Great Series
I'm a librarian at a small charter school. I read a lot of books so I can give students book suggestions. I loved this book and already have one student hooked on the series.

Surprised by some wording
My 10 year old has been reading these books to me, over the summer she has read the first two books. One of the first things I noticed is that even though this book is considered in her reading level, the words this author uses are HUGE ! I mean come on, I spend quite a bit of time defining these words for my daughter which takes her fluency level down. I am surprised specifically with this third book to have her read on page 121 "that damned guardian". Ok, I'm not sure why on earth you use that language in a childs book and no it's not horrible but it's also not necessary.I'm glad she is almost done with it, and has about accomplished her goal of reading this series, but still surprised that an adult would write this in a childrens book.

Fabulous Gripping Mystery
I was gutted to put this book down. I have read the whole series and this finale really brought it to a great end. This is a super read for any age from 8 upwards. At first I wasn't that intrested in reading this series I thought it was all frilly faries but this book really shows a different side to the faries. This book got you asking questions like any good mystery but they were more like:Who has killed so and so?or Why did she do that?Michelle Harrison has written one of my favourite series ever! I would recommend to really engross yourself in this book although make sure you have read all of the others first!Have a good time with this book the murders and excitement are my favourite part Michelle describes the characters really well and this book. This series is ……AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was in my opinion very well written, brilliant characters, great plot, so exciting and thrilling all through out! I will say this one has been my favourite book ever, so far and also my favourite out of the four in the series including the prequel (One Wish) , i just could not put this book down and recommend to anyone who wants a magical gripping fantasy page-turner with lots of excitement.

Such a same its the last one
I am well aware that I am much older than the target audience for this type of book! But I don't care, Ilead a pretty dull adult life and sometimes its nice to be able to escape into a magical story filled withmagical characters. I have decided (though I realise it is not possible) that I want my very own Brunswickliving in my garden! The 13 series kind of reminds me of the magic faraway tree stories by Enid Blyton that I read over and overagain when I was kid, books I still own and read from time to time. (R J Andersons series is similar andI love them just as much) I love all the characters so much, especially Tanya as she's the heroine and Ican sympathise so much with things she's experienced (not the being able to see faeries part I'd like to add)but divorce and split families and secrets. I loved witnessing her grow and accept her abilities and responsibilitiesthroughout the 3 books, she really is a wonderful character and it is such a shame that this is the last we shallhear about her.I really don't like to say too much about plot in a review, otherwise whats the point in someone reading the book? But I will say that the final battle that Tanya, her friends both human and fey and her family face is immense. It far exceeded my expectations for this book. It really has matured as a series and I felt that the finalinstalment really did it justice. I was not at all disappointed, and as sad as I am that the series is finishedI am sure I will read the books time and again and I eagerly await Michelle Harrisons next work.

A Fabulous Finale
The Thirteen Secrets is the final instalment in Michelle Harrison's wonderful trilogy involving the relationship between faeries and humans. I adored her first two books, The Thirteen Treasures and The Thirteen Curses and I anticipated the latest novel with a mixture of sorrow, excitement and dread - sad because it was the signalling the end of my interaction with well-loved characters, excited to see how these characters would develop and the tiniest hint of dread that I might be disappointed. Fear ye not as the author does a fabulous job of bringing events at Elvesden Manor to a close whilst introducing us to some intriguing new characters.I don't want to give away too much of the plot but suffice to say that you are in for a real treat. Rowan (Red) is living at Elvesden Manor and she is doing her utmost to lead a "normal" life with Tanya, Fabian and co. Of course "normality" is off the menu when you live in a fairy-infested house, fairies in the grandfather clock, a tea caddy brownie in the kitchen complete with walking stick and a drain dweller in the bathrooom whose belches smell like rotten eggs. However, Rowan is haunted by nightmares from the past and it would appear that everyone, human and fairy alike, is harbouring some sort of secret, some of which have dreadful consequences. This is an even darker tale than the preceding novels, perhaps due to the increasing maturity of the characters who have already experienced the dark and light side of faeries. We have already seen the malevolence of the Unseelie Court, the random removal of human children replaced by changelings, the vindictive nature of Tanya's faerie guardian but things take an even more sinister turn in this volume with the battle between good and evil becoming a fight between life and death. Some scenes are reminiscent of the Chronicles of Narnia, especially the battle between Aslan's followers and those of the White Witch - stirring stuff which doesn't pander to those of an overly sensitive nature so expect tears amidst the smiles and rejoicing! So, the feeling of dread has vanished but there is still some residual sadness that the 13 series is over. At least I will have the pleasure some day of reading the trilogy aloud to my daughter (who, at 7, is still at the Tinkerbell stage..) I highly recommend this whole series to children of all ages (9-99) who believe in some sort of magic and who don't automatically attribute those odd noises in the bathroom to faulty plumbing!

A fantastic ending to a brilliant series!!!
If your children haven't read this series, then they really should. All of the characters are very well written, intriguing and larger then life. This entire series is really good fun to read. There's plenty of magic, danger, excitement, suspence and plot twists to keep kids interested right the way through. An ancient society of humans and fairies is being hunted down, one by one, by forces unknown. If they aren't stopped soon then there will be none of them left. Red is deeply involded in the danger. Tanya, Fabian and the others are drawn in along with her. I think that this whole series if fantastic, but this is the best book yet. I liked the way that the book was left open at the end, to suggest that one day the author may come back to elvesden manor and its enhabitants to begin yet another story...
