mBar pro+

I go on a long business trips to Asia every 3~4 months and I had gotten rather used to having my 15.4" MBP on a stand at home and at work and decided I need a lightweight portable stand I can take on the road. I got a foldable stand from a manufacturer called GoKing and it was good but not quite sturdy enough for typing on the laptop as it tended to tilt one way or another. So I passed that off to my son who has a 13.3" MBP and looked for another solution. I saw an article about the mBar Pro in some tech article and decided to give it a shot despite its rather hefty price tag. Well, if you've already put in thousands into a new MBP and peripherals what's another $60? The fact that it's only 4.6 ounces was a big plus. I intend to use the stand in the hotel rooms as well as at the offices of the suppliers I visit. I received the stand today and it's exactly what I had in mind. It's wide enough to keep the MBP steady while typing and resting one of my wrists on it. The previous stand tended to tilt as the base was somewhat narrow. It's very minimalist which is good and the height is perfect. It's something I can carry with me and use anywhere. It fits the 15.4" MBP perfectly and the tabs that keep the laptop from sliding off is just the right height as well and doesn't protrude over the surface of the opened MBP. Very nice. It's a pricey stand but it's sturdy, lifts the laptop to a nice angle for viewing and typing, and it's very lightweight. The carrying case is a nice touch as it'll prevent the stand from scratching anything else inside a bag. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a great design that works perfectly with my MBP for working away from my desk. it folds flat and is quite stable. It seems well made. I have several other products from Rain Design and they are all top notch.

This review is for the Mbar Pro+ stand and I'm very happy with the product. I'm using this stand for a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop and my top criteria is to elevate the PC high enough and for the stand itself to not block air intake, which is at the bottom. This product does both. On my particular laptop model, the supporting arms run through the center of both fans, however, the thickness of each arm is only 7 millimeters, which is slim. I can feel with my hand plenty of air is flowing when the laptop is under heavy load. Since the stand is made of quality metal, it stays cool to the touch. The rubber feet keep the stand from sliding on my wooden desk. The stand elevates my PC high enough that I can place my keyboard underneath when not in use. I'm providing measurements that might be useful to some. The back supporting bars are are 13 mm thick. The back elevates to 13.5 cm, vertical. The arms, where the laptop rests, are 7 mm thick. The lowest portion of the stand elevates to 5 cm, vertical. The stand is light (not a drawback) and sturdy. I recommend this product if you need to elevate your laptop and want to provide plenty of airflow from underneath.

Super lightweight and easy to set up. Makes being ergonomic easy anywhere!

I don't know why this doesn't have more reviews yet. I just received this today, but I am pleased so far. No it doesn't adjust height, but there are height options to choose from and if you have a sense of how much height you need I don't know if it necessarily needs to be adjustable. I got the highest version of this folding stand- the Pro +. I was also looking at the Roost stand, but I think it's way over priced at $75. It looks cheap and I don't like black plastic or black objects in general and will always choose a lighter colored one especially since my decor is light. I actually emailed the company to see if they would be offering other colors like white or silver in the future and they said no. So I couldn't bring myself to pay that much money for something that I thought was ugly and didn't like the color of. If I'm going to pay that premium then I think I should have a choice of colors and be able to purchase one I like! There's a reason why iPhones and Macs come in different colors and have for years and continue to--because people have different tastes and people like having a choice. So I looked around more and looked to see if Rain had a portable stand since I use and like their regular MacBook stand already. And I'm glad I found this one and I'm pleased to have a stand that matches my silver MacBook. It is sturdy and although it doesn't fold up as compactly as the roost or some other stands it is flat and if you look at the weight specs this is comparable and just as light for travel. I do have the more stationary swiveling rain stand which I love, but wanted something more portable for travel or working in a different area.

This was one of the best small purchases I made for my home office. The rubber on the arms keeps the laptop from moving around and this helps elevate the screen to a much better height. I love how small it is when folded making it easy for taking to client visits.

Very simple form factor but exactly what I needed - angle my laptop and raise the screen up a few inches. Solid, elegant, quality build, and feather light. Matches the "space grey" of my MacBook Pro exactly. I won't be using this for travel, but I wouldn't recommend it anyway as I'd imagine it would bend or break inside your luggage.

Wer gerne sein MacBook Pro 14" leicht angewinkelt verwenden möchte aber trotzdem noch die Tastatur des MacBook verwenden möchte, der ist mit dem mBar Ständer von Rain Design perfekt am Start. Eigentlich ein sehr einfaches Produkt, dass aber das perfekt gebogene Aluminium Stück passt perfekt zwischen die 4 Füße des MacBook Pro 14" und verleiht so dem Laptop einen festen Stand und einen perfekten Winkel. Ich würde den mBar Ständer aber nicht für unterwegs empfehlen. Konstruktionsbedingt ist der Ständer nicht so gut zu verstauen.

Pour ceux qui aiment travailler en mode docking mais tout en utilisant l'écran de votre laptop, très utile car super Compact et léger pour votre sac a dos :-)

Very high quality, using daily during lengthy train journeys. High price but worth it if you want to raise the screen but still use the keyboard and trackpad. Has every indication of lasting for years.
