heavy and strong. I loaded my dirt bike easily, sure beats hauling a trailer up to the parking lot. One thing to watch out for I have a spare tire on the back of my jeep and I may have a little trouble folding up the ramp, but my tire is pretty big. someone may want to keep that in mind when ordering. It will fold up on my Denali though. I would buy it again.

This thing is heavy and heavy duty. Was missing parts. But the vendor made it right quickly. Great to work with.

I ordered this bike carrier, the MCC-500-F after toting a trailer around the state looking for a dirt bike to buy. This seemed like a better option since I have an SUV and didn't need any space except to transport a bike. Assembly took about 20 minutes with the right tools. Sort your bolts and refer to the illustration in the manual, follow by test fitting each fastener and you will be fine. One thing I noticed was that on the centre tube that holds everything and slides into the receiver, there wasn't a right angle weld anywhere. I guess the welder that put this thing together was either cross-eyed or wasn't wearing his glasses. Every tabbed weld was crooked! I only took one picture to illustrate the worst, both the side tabs, the inner strap tab, and the rear facing outside metal tab were crooked as well, but the holes were big enough so that when the rear tab was installed with the four bolts, I could square it up and then tighten the bolts so that it looked square. The inner strap tab is non adjustable- it is permanently crooked and off-centre. The side tabs held the ramp and with the cushioned angled metal pieces, the ladder stowed evenly. I may have to pad it to take up the slack from the welding. Despite all of these, the carrier fit together adequately. You've heard the saying, "A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't!" The manufacturers have. The bolts were stamped with grades 4.8 and 8.8. I doubt they are those grades but I used them anyway. If one fails there are others and I will address them as they come and check them before each trip. The folding adapter is neat in concept, but impractical in assembly. I have all kinds of tools but the socket cap bolt has a greater drive size than I have in tool- of course. The nut is about 15/16 of an inch and I have one of those wrenches but it is useless without an Allen bit holding the bolt during tightening. I thought about sending the folding adapter back (if I could since I bought these as a set) and describing the tube to potentially get a new one, but in the end, I decided to keep everything, fix what I could myself, and replace parts as needed. With products like these, the last thing I want to to is muddy my already tainted idea of the company with a bad experience from customer service. I will leave well enough alone. Eventually I will buy an Allen driver for the size specified and use the folding adapter on something else. One note, the anti tilt bracket will be useless with the folding adapter and carrier. I am using it only with the carrier and I think that buying the MCC-500 by itself is a better deal if you had your heart stuck on buying from DiscountRamps. I would rather have a carrier that doesn't wobble but sticks out rather than one that does wobble but folds when not in use. I also considered lighting when the bike was loaded and opted for Harbor Freight magnetic lamps that I got for about ten bucks over the Father's Day sale. I plan on zip-tying them on so they don't fall off during transport but they seem to stick ok by just magnets. This carrier is okay, it will fit my needs with modifications, but there may be better options out there. Good luck.

I got the product much earlier than expected which was nice, but it is missing both L brackets. So I still put it together without them and ended up tightening the bolts too much and the aluminum is so thin, it ended up caving the aluminum in some. I’m still gonna try using it this weekend without the part... we’ll see how it goes...

The item was excellent and dose what it's meant to do , would buy again

I was unable to use the folding part because it is rounded where it goes into the receiver so it has too much wobble. Works great if you don't use the folding part and just put the rack stright into the receiver. It is square and therefore dose not wobble..
