Great Laptop
I have yet to see a review for the 120hz, 17.3" screen, so i figured i would provide one. It comes as advertised with a few extras. I have only had this laptop for about 24 hours now, so take this review as you will. Out of the box, i decided to add another M.2 drive i had. The advertised pop-open screw did help, but it was still a pain to get a tool in the space to pop open the rest. After checking the box, i found it also came with a 2.5in SSD adapter with the motherboard flat cable (not sure what its called). It also came with 4 mounting screws. While it appears you can attach a 2.5" to the motherboard, i could not find space for it to mount and have the bottom sealed again (perhaps a bit more research). The Ryzen 7 4800H processor is blazing fast comparative to my previous i7. The AC wifi has been consistent and pulling/pushing incredible speeds. I was able to dowload and install about a 1/2 TB worth of software, simultaneously, within about 90 to 120 min. This model does come with the ROG Amoury Crate software where you can manage profiles for your games. I found the fan noise is slightly better than that of my previous generation A17 TUF Gaming laptop. I find the adaptive sync screen is actually not as bad as everyone is saying. Amoury Crate profiles help to adjust your color balance and screen brightness quite well (i have yet to test games, but will within the next 24 hours). I have also ordered a DP to USB-C adapater, so i will let you know of VR compatability as well (Oculus Rift S). The sound is a bit better than previous generations as well, though still not great. As with the 15.6" models, it also came with DTS Sound Unbound which works spectacular with my Bose QC35 headphones. Hope this was helpful to those considering this laptop. So far, i am extremely impressed and glad i waited for it. Best bang for buck as well!EDIT: Alright, so after a few days with the laptop, as well as gaming with it, i find this laptop to be quite excellent for the price. The DP to USB-C adapter DOES work seamlessly with the Oculus Rift S headset. (Oculus software says computer doesnt meet specs, but i found that its due to a non-intel processor and all games work fine.) I have played The Forest (VR), Rust, Beat Saber (VR) and Half Life: Alyx (VR) so far flawlessly. Rust, as you know, does take a bit of tweaking to get just right, but i experienced no frame drops and seamless execution of scenes throughout all of the games. The fan did not spin up to max and stay there the whole time as other people have said before. It does spike when it needs to but noise is manageable. Overall, great product and extremely satisfied.

Had this laptop for 3+ years
Giving review 3 years later. This has been the best laptop ive ever owned. I play Warzone 3 in 1080p on ultra getting triple digit FPS. Yes, the fans come on because this laptop has a dedicated video card. Even my gaming PC with 11700k and RTX4070ti has the fans come on. People are so surprised the fans come on in the reviews, its a gaming laptop.. Other than that I hook it up to my 75" Samsung TV and stream Games and PPV fights beautifully. This laptop shows no signs of needing to upgrade in the next few years, still a powerhouse for a laptop. I paid $1200 in Jan 2021 for this thing and have been soo happy I have it on the go!

Better as a desktop than a laptop
The big screen and heft of the laptop is great. It's solid, tough, and reliable. However, it does have some shortcomings that make it better as a 'desktop' than a laptop:1. The wireless is not great. It take a while to connect and sometimes just stalls until you disable/enable it or change to a different network. LAN works great!2. The trackpad is frustrating. I've concluded that any tension on the laptop, such as resting your hands on it while on your lap, causes the trackpad to not operate or malfunction. Very, very frustrating. Adding a mouse solves this problem.Based on the above 2 major issues - this is a laptop that clearly works better connected to a port/hub with LAN and a Mouse. (and it weighs a ton)

works for what i need it for
this is a great laptop for coding and animating, though i've never tried to render any 3D animations on it. it can run unity, maya, and blender fine for the actual creation of things, though there's definitely some lag if you're trying to view the full texture of things in blender.i can play 2D games on this fine. when i play slime rancher the fans start singing and it gets very hot, especially when i have to plug it in (games drain the battery very fast, though aside from that the battery life is good and it fully charges in an hour if you aren't gaming). granted, i am playing the game at what is likely too high of a resolution option.honestly i've mostly used this for coding, animating, and watching anime. there are two weird glitchy things i've noticed- the track pad sometimes quits registering things and lags for a minute or so and the audio stutters for a few seconds on occasion. they don't happen that often and are minor annoyances at best.at one point my friend had to uninstall windows and then reinstall it because it quit being able to update and i was getting stuck in update loops, but neither of us know what caused that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.anyway, if you're looking to play... not 3D open worldy games, or if you're wanting to work with unity or model in blender or maya, this is a good fit. granted, i don't know about rendering out animations in maya or blender, as i was told that can fry laptops (i rendered my stuff out on my school's desktop instead, though most of it was modelled and even textured on this laptop).also. good luck finding a laptop bag it will fit into... though the bright side of that is a very big screen.ah, and heads up that airpod pros will a) take forever to connect to the laptop's bluetooth and 2) make horrible static sounds if they are too close to the laptop. i think that's more on the airpod pros though, as airpods work fine with it (i listen to music... a lot, okay).
