This Rubbermaid Deskside Plastic Rectangular Wastebasket does what it is made for. It's small enough (3.5 gallon capacity) to fit under a desk, or in a cupboard under a sink, as I am using it. A standard 4 gallon trash bags fit perfectly inside with 2 inches to spare and fold neatly over the top of the basket. Cleaning with a disinfecting wipe is quick and easy as there are no oddly shaped corners or angles.The basket measures 8.5" by 11.5" across the top, then tapers down to 6.5"x10" at the bottom. It stands 12" tall. I actually took a tape measure to get those numbers, going by past answers it is possible that the size has changed in recent years.Bottom line, if you're looking for a small wastebasket, either for trash or recycling, this one works like a charm. It isn't meant to hold a full household's worth of trash, but it works well for this single person.

This is a standard, solid trash bin and should hold up with years of use.

I received the product in February. I have no issues with the product. It performs great indoors & outdoors. I drive it in my allotment and there are 2 steep hills to climb and it performed beautifully. I had a defective part on the front one of the wheel hub, but the supplier air freighted a replacement part that I installed in about 5 minutes. So, hats off to the supplier. So, after 6 months of use I definitely would rate the product as a 5.

I was looking for a small trash bin by Rubbermaid and this was the only color they had. I would have preferred white for my bathrooms and office but what can ya do? It works fine and that's all that matters. The one I had in my office was plastic and all the corners were chipped off. Piece of junk. You can't go wrong if you pick Rubbermaid products. They last forever!

What can I say? It's a garbage can. It's a good size to put under my desk. It's black and it holds garbage. One particular thing is that it doesn't have a billion labels all over it so I don't have to spend half an hour prying them off of the can before I put it into service. But in the end, it's a garbage can.

This is perfect for my den as a trash can and I recently bought one to hold my dirty socks until I am ready to put them into a zippered wash bag to wash them.
