Better for you than flossing & kids think it's fun so they do it more
I used a waterpik for years as a kid and I remember thinking it was great then. I had braces and nothing cleared junk out of my teeth/braces better than my waterpik. At some point as I grew older it fell by the wayside and I forgot all about them until our dentist recommended it over flossing. He states that flossing can drag the crud and bacteria deeper into the gums if not done properly (with a new section of floss for each tooth and not going back down after going up). He also states that his patients who use a waterpik have consistently healthier teeth, gums and mouth in general than his hard-core flossers. We bought the adult waterpik for ourselves Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser and this one for our almost 8 year old girl. We all love them! Our daughter is much better about doing her teeth now that she has her waterpik because it's "fun". Plus her teeth/gums end up way cleaner than when she was trying to do floss and brush before. In hindsight, I would buy this unit for myself as well over the adult unit. The reason being is that it is smaller and doesn't take up as much room on the counter. In addition, it doesn't have a lid with a compartment in it for a bunch of useless attachments (as the adult one does). The problem with that lid is it can be a hassle to get on and off because it can pop open. Also, I like the color better. It comes with stickers which, obviously, you don't have to use, so it doesn't look like a kids unit otherwise. The one issue we've had with our daughter is that she has a hard time pressing the water chamber down tight enough on the unit for it to seal. We solved this by keeping a little plastic cup in the bathroom and so she just fills the cup with water then pours it into the water chamber as needed (and this is fun also apparently...) Summary: Great unit, better for your teeth than flossing, fun for kids to use so increases compliance, and smaller footprint than the blue adult one.

Using this Gentle Water Flosser gave me a very, very healthy dental checkup! My Very Detailed Review.
Well I am an adult with sensitive gums. Before I purchased this Kids Waterpik, I tried 3 other Waterflossers and ALL were too strong for me. Then I tried this one....BINGO! Perfect and so gentle for my gums and teeth. **** Update on August 17, 2016...I have used this Kids Waterpik since January 2016. After two recent cleanings, both my hygienist and Dentist were totally amazed at how healthy my gums and teeth are. I had pockets of 1's, 2's and just a couple of 3's on my rear molars (I used to have 3's and mostly 4's). This was my best checkup ever in my life! I add just a touch of good quality mouthwash and pure spring water to this and water floss twice daily or more if I eat say popcorn, I also brush 3 times daily. My mouth feels so clean and my teeth are whiter now. My gums are a very healthy pink now! PROS: 1 Levels of jet...it ranges from very soft gentle to medium soft. I tried each and worked up to the highest level which super cleans my gums and teeth WITHOUT IRRITATIIN OR DISCOMFORT. 2 Water capacity...One full tank if this cleaned my gums and teeth in just one try. I did nit need to refill. 3 Extra abilities...I place 1 to 2 caps of Listerine. And many timrs ACT Rinse to remove plaque. 4 Turning on and off...Because this is very close to my sink it is easy to turn off on. 5 Takes up just a tiny space...I placed mine right next to my sink and it fits well. 6 Suggestion...A large Ziplock bag covers the whole waterflosser and the pik tip. I have attempted to show a picture. Also, I found when I waterfloss to hold my head downward and mouth mostly closed while waterflossing and then there is no mess (water does not go all over bathroom).

Effective Tool for Flossing
I highly recommend this flosser for children and anyone who wants to ensure that their kids are getting the proper and routine care for their teeth. My kids often struggled with dental floss and it was a nightly battle. Cue this Waterpik flosser-- the style is fun and it is easy to use. The kids immediately bought into the process with the fun addition of adding stickers and making it their "own". The flosser has 3 spray settings - all very effective- and most importantly the spray intensity is controlled so it will not cause gum damage, as some of the other higher volume sprayers can. I actually use this for myself (as an adult) as well. I spent time researching flossers prior to this purchase, and this was highly recommended by multiple review forums and individuals. After using it for a few months, I too, would recommend this as a great flossing tool not just for kids, but adults alike.

Perfect for Kids – Easy to Use and Effective!
I got the Waterpik Water Flosser for Kids (WP-260) for my 8-year-old, and it’s been a great addition to his oral hygiene routine. The fun green color makes it kid-friendly, and the simple controls mean he can use it on his own without any issues. It works really well and makes flossing much easier than traditional string floss. One helpful tip—make sure the tip is in the mouth before turning it on or off, or you’ll end up with water everywhere (learned that the hard way!). Also, be sure to start with the pressure on low when turning it on and then adjust higher as needed for comfort and effectiveness. Overall, it’s a great product that makes flossing fun and easy for kids. Would’ve given 5 stars if it had a bit more water pressure control, but it still does the job perfectly!

VERY GOOD - EURO PLUG-IN COMPAITBLE! - EXCELLENT FOR TRAVEL !
THE GOOD: 1) footprint is smaller than other type units 2) it is Euro wattage compatible, so just use your simple plug adapter you use for other electronic devices, and you are good to go! 3) the top flips over to make it really compact and protects the switches while traveling. Just put it in a little bag and you are all set! 4) the unit/casing won't break while traveling because the water tank is flexible plastic (not the rigid plastic of all the other types! 5) on setting 3 (the highest) it is honestly as strong (or REALLY stronger) than other tabletop units I own! 6) because it is plug in, it will not accidently go on while traveling - which I found to be a BIG problem with a previous cordless version! - That alone is a BIG relief not to worry about while packing! 7) because it has no battery, it will last many more years than the cordless versions. 8) I really like that the switches are manual, not touch pads or tiny little buttons. That makes it so much easier. 9) NICE PRICE!! ***************************************************************************************************************************** THE NO SO GOOD: 1) it is heavy. In perspective... so just be aware it will add about 1 pound more than the handheld rechargeables types to your travel bag 1a) --> IT WEIGHTS ABOUT TWICE AS MUCH AS A PORTABLE HANDHELD RECHARGABLE UNIT. 2) The tank is about 20% smaller than other tabletop versions...but simply fill it and keep a cup of water next to it while flossing and simply add it while flossing...problem solved :-) 3) it is about 15% louder than other tabletop units...but I always put on a simple ear muffling headset anyways when using these because I just don't like the motor sound so honestly the sound is not an issue while wearing the earmuffs , which I always take while traveling anyway, so not an issue and I recommend that to everyone regardless of the unit type VERDICT: EXCELLENT --> and even good as a 2nd back up unit! HIGHLY recommend (and the stickers are pretty cool for gifts, put on bicycle, water bottles, etc. :-) nice touch!

Excellent waterpik.
Works really well as expected. My son uses it easily and it’s not complicated. The water pressure is strong but not too strong. Cleans well. The reservoir is big enough to accommodate a full cleaning. Comes with interchangeable tips for retainers and such. The designs is good but I feel more options would have been great. My son happens to like the green though. Overall recommend it.

Not enough water capacity.
This kids' version of the waterpik has shown me that we do not need all those settings for the power of the water stream: this one has 3 and 3 is more than adequate. HOWEVER, I feel sorry for kids who trying to use a waterpik if they're cleaning braces on their teeth. The water tank is so small, it runs out quickly. And kids with braces probably need EXTRA time with a waterpik, compared with the amount of time needed by people who don't have braces on their teeth. So, I'm now keeping a tall plastic cup in the bathroom next to this cute little waterpik in order to add water as I go to get a thorough cleaning. The other problem is that the tank is a little bit difficult to seat on to the valve. I think Waterpik should re-think this whole version - if anything, they should make the tank taller to hold more water. They should also re-design how the tank sits on the receiving valve to make it easier to "click" into place and be secure. The overall function is good, meaning the motor is good and strong. It's just too small to really get the job done. I am glad Waterpik is charging less for this model. They should.

Good for the price
Works great for braces! Like all waterpics I've ever used, it is a bit noisy. But honestly that doesn't bother me or my son, who uses it. This was recommended by his orthodontist and as a dental assistant I agree it is great to use when in braces. The value was good. It had fun stickers. I would highly recommend detaching the tip and allowing it to dry between uses.
