Merrell Gardena Thong,Brown,6 M US

I have worn UGG Layback sandals for house slippers for several years now....but UGG decided to discontinue the style. My last pair of UGGs finally bit the dust this month...I saw these, not sure the insole will work (the bottom of my foot is allergic to synthetics) but I liked the look...so I bought the shoe. Received it yesterday. Great shoe.I wear Merrell clogs in winter w/socks (thank goodness for slacks), but no socks in summer. So far I can't tell this insole is a problem. If it is, I will insert a leather insole. The fit & comfort of this shoe are great. I can't say enough. Now will Merrell keep the style? We'll see.Sept 17, 2013...I have worn these shoes almost every day since they are slippers for me. Unfortunately the elastic has stretched so much that the shoes are loose on my feet and are beginning to flop around. I bought them to replace a pair of Uggs that did that. So far these shoes are not causing me to misstep or stumble, but I am disappointed that the elastic is not a better quality. I downgraded the shoes to 3 stars. They still fit and are very comfortable as long as they are on my feet.

This is the second pair of these shoes I own, so I already knew the shoes would fit. This is the first pair of Merrells I have ordered on line, but it was a great experience. The shoes arrived promptly at the appointed date and were well packed in double boxes. The shoes were new, as the seller said, and were in perfect condition. As usual for a Merrell, they felt great as soon as I put them on and I have had several compliments on their good looks. The leather is top quality, and the brown color will take me into the fall and still be fashionable. While Merrell shoes are rather expensive, I have never had a pair that I regretted buying. They last for years, and retain their good looks.

The middle strap hurts when I walk. Otherwise, it has a nice base, I like the color and style. I can almost wear them except for the scraping from the piece near the toe. I bought a 6M and need a roomy toe box, which this has. If I thought it would stop cutting the area between my toes, I'd keep them.

the left sandal was a clear 3/4" narrower than the right....unlike the pair I purchased some time ago these are judged very inferior
