It has a Pin Retainer!
The negative reviews about this having a pin retainer and not as pictured is true.This tool shouldn't deserve a negative review simply because a user does not the purpose of the pin.Don't try putting this with a socket without a hole on the side as it will be difficult to remove.Works great and is strong as hell!

Poor quality
Very poor quality, I was surprised how poor it was. I can't put a socket on it without sliding my finger over the ball bearing to get it started, then I have to tap it on with a hammer. I threw it away, Junk.

Just the right size for tight spots, no need for the 1/2" drive
Although it is a 3/8" drive, this is the perfect size for tight fitting locations. I had to use a 1/2" torque wrench for the amount of torque needed, so I used this U-joint with a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter and this U-joint didn't flex or budge one bit. This is truly a sturdy U-joint socket.Overall: 5/5 stars

Not what's pictured
This is my second 3/8" impact universal joint. I returned the first but the second is the same. The picture and write-up show and call out a friction ball but what you get is a pin lock that if placed into the side of the socket with the hole, an awl or pin of some kind must be used for removal. It will function well if that's what you want.

Good quality adapter. You know this won't just break from a few uses. Has a lock pin not friction ball though
