Great bear, great value.
I got this for my niece. My tiny little 18 month old niece. Who is Thai. I wanted to get her something that is educational, but also in the English language. Learning English is often a vital stepping stone to a good education in Asia. And that is certainly the case in Thailand. We gave this to her, and now she carries/drags it wherever she goes. She stares lovingly at it when it talks to her. And when it sings… she is overjoyed. She hugs it, dances and claps along to the beat.Whether or not this will help her English ability is yet to be seen. But the happiness she gets from it is good enough for me.The bear, or dog, or whatever this is, is well made, as you’d expect from Fisher-Price. Ours has been thrown around, dragged across the floor, bitten, punched, swung by its ears and travelled in a suitcase around the world. And, it’s still in perfect condition. For under $20, it’s a really great gift. Very happy with ours.

Multifunctional & Educational
I bought this for my 5-month old daughter for Christmas. She loves it and her grandfather plays with "Puppy" and her every morning. She loves the songs and loves to hold and cuddle "Puppy". The puppy can do lots so it keeps her attention for a while. I even bought one for a friend's 3 month old son. At the time I purchased, it was great value for money. Today, the price has doubled, so I guess it must be quite popular with parents. My daughter loves "Puppy" and it is a really nice size too (not too small nor too large). He is just perfect! We named him Puppy! I would recommend this to parents - a lot of options to keep your little one's interests peaked and he is so colorful and adorable, any baby would google over it!

Such a great gift for a baby. This pup is soft and durable but also plays music and lights up.

She likes it so she'll get a new one buuuuttttt...
My 6 month old daughter got this for Christmas and loves it. She especially loves when we sing along to the songs (which BTW are not THAT annoying... I think it depends on your personal preference). Head/Shoulders/Knees/Toes and the ABC song have both come in handy to sing to her when she's upset. I never found the paws to have a hair trigger sensitivity issue. In fact, just the opposite. I have to push on it to get it to play sounds and have been wondering how in the world she'd ever be able to activate it herself. I got it because my cousin's 9 month old LOVED hers. The bad part is that the power switch foot is busted. It won't change modes anymore. And naturally it happened in the mode that's the learning stage - a bit too soon for her age - which means I can't get to the songs she really likes to hear. I dont know if this is from rough play by our 10 and 12 y/o nephews who play with her or being carted back and forth to places.I originally bought this at Target for Christmas where it might have been "tried" one too many times. I'm hoping that is the reason why it is already broken. Either way, I have to replace it. She loves it way too much.PS - she also has a v-tech Violet that currently does not hold any interest to her. I think it's a bit too advanced at the moment and will come in handy when she learns to talk, count, etc.UPDATED 4/3/11: I now see what other parents were talking about when they said this toy has a hair trigger. The one foot activates if you even brush the toy at all it seems. She still loves the toy but I agree with other comments that the ADD it has can be annoying.

The Perfect Play Pal
Five Stars for Fun: I bought the Fisher-Price: Laugh and Learn Puppy for my grand daughter for Christmas. At 14 months it was the perfect gift. Molly drags it from room to room, sleeps with it and wakes up playing with it. I am sure this plush pup will be with her for several years to come.Five Stars for Educational Value: Press to hear: Ear, Foot, Hand and Tummy. It also plays several sing along tunes and has a number of phrases. The voice used in the mechanism is crystal clear - something that is not often true in many of today's toys.Five Stars for Durability: The Laugh & Learn Puppy is very well made and I am sure it will not only last through her young years but will be passed on to other grand children in the future.

a year later (useful info)
bought this toy a year ago for my youngest daughter, who was 2 years.in general during this year, this toy is well preserved. (photo attaching). All functions and buttons work well.I agree with many who wrote reviews that the toy has funny and interesting songs that let your child learn the alphabet, counting, numbers, colors. My daughter was playing in the first months of this toy very often, but not by a long time (about 10 minutes). Now it is even rarer. In the toy has two modes - learning (colors, body parts, etc.) and music (songs). Both of these modes are useful.I like also the color and the material of this toy.As for the turn off the sound, it is possible to turn off the sound when you find the special button under the clothing of puppy at its back also where you can adjust the power of sound. For the price I bought it for $ 15 and I'm not sure whether it is worth buying for more than 40.By the way it should be noted some words about battery. During this year I don't changed the battery but toy is still working.

Adorable little puppy! Baby loves it & Grandma does too!
First of all, let me say that although I didn't purchase this sweet toy for my Grand daughter (another Grandma did!) I wish that I had!My 9 month old little one LOVES this toy....and has a hard time holding on to it, because her big sister (5 yrs) and cousins (6 & 5) keep trying to "trade" it away from her! She has been playing with, slinging around & kissing this puppy since she was 6 months old.The puppy is soft & cuddly and the sensors are easy for little fingers to push (a light touch does it). I think Fisher Price would do well to lower the age range on this toy to 6 months (from 24 months).Rest assured...this toy would make a great shower gift, "just because" gift OR birthday gift. (I especially like the new take on "this little piggy"!)
