We purchased this vest for our 17 month old granddaughter to use in our pool. The vest is well made and quite secure. There is no way she can unbuckle the FOUR buckles and zipper herself and get out of it! She is still learning to keep herself upright in the water. The vest makes her float on her back, so we never stop holding her. As she gets accustomed to the water, and this vest, she will be able to float in the water. We ordered the smallest size for her and she has about a 2 inch gap from her shoulders to the vest, when she is in the water, so it is not really a "perfect" fit. We could not find a smaller vest on the market. She is NEVER unattended, so this really isn't a big concern. The vest gives her security and gives us peace of mind while she is in, or around, the pool.

This life vest will only work if your child knows how to hold themselves upright or their head will dunk under water.

It is exactly what I expected.

If you're expecting a life jacket to help your child float properly and not drown, this is NOT the one. My small child fell into the water wearing one of these and it literally held her, face down, in the water. Unless your child is a very proficient swimmer DO NOT BUY THESE LIFE JACKETS.

This is a great swim vest for the price. We bought this for the 4-yr-old who was totally comfortable in the water due to the buoyancy provided.The extra strap that goes between the legs is good in that it help provides suitable float protection even if the swim jacket is slightly too large for your child. Actually, I was surprised that our little one enjoyed clicking the straps herself when putting on the vest.

It fits well, but the material is very cheap. The strap ripped as I was testing it. Definitely not reliable in case of an emergency.

The vest fit better than I expected it to on my 16 month old. I am eating it with only 3 stars because the handle on the back ripped off before I even lifted my child off the ground. I am glad I tested it on her before I tried to pull her out of the water with it.

I love these! These are so much better than some my kids have worn. They even have a little padding by the butt area! Would buy again!
