Kooler Laptop Cooling Pad USB Powered with Silent Fan

It says it fits up to 16-inch laptop, but not quite, there is a bit too much OPEN space. If you look at the pictures, the openings to the right and left, even the top and bottom, are just too much open space. It really needs a larger FAN to reach those areas too.It works OK, but it would work much better if the FAN was larger and covered more area under the computer. My HP has vent openings where the OPEN space is with this unit, and therefore, It cools my computer some, but not quite enough. It is certainly better than nothing at all. This unit cost less than some that I have purchased in the past, and it arrived quickly when ordered, so those are advantages.I purchase a Portable Mini Vacuum Air Extracting USB Cooling Fan about a month ago and that was a BIG MISTAKE, it was too big for my computer - even though it said it would fit, it did not, it would not stay on my computer and after less than 2-weeks it stopped working, so compared to that this is a fantastic unit. Would I buy this again, I don't know, maybe if I could find nothing better. Would I recommend it to a friend, I would advise them to borrow my for a week and see if it works well with their computer. Even though it is reasonable​, I would not want my friend to spend the money if it doesn't really meet their needs.

Although, it has a few shortcomings, I rate this product "5 Stars" because, overall, its performance is excellent & its price quite reasonable.I presently use a 17-inch HP Pavilion laptop (Ca. 2007-2008), which I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate (against HP's admonitions!). These particular HP computers always appear to have "run hot," but recently I had much trouble with my laptop shutting itself down in the middle of things (like backups & security scans!) & failing to restart when ordered to do so. Sometimes, my laptop would just shut off in the middle of my doing something like creating a document, if a number of other processes were running in the background. Since buying my Cooling Pad, I've had no instances of heat-induced shutdown of my laptop.The shortcomings of my Cooling Pad are two: (1) the device is powered via a laptop USB port, so you lose one of your ports when you install this device--other such cooling pads add a USB port to their device so that you don't have one less port to use; (2) the Cooling Pad is not really designed for a 17-in laptop (specified for "12.1 to 16 inch" laptops)--but I found that the little "feet' on my 17-inch laptop just fit onto the Cooling Pad platform, so I can use it w/o any problem except for the aesthetics of the setup.Before choosing this device I did extensive study on the Amazon website of a number of cooling devices of this type. I read many, many product reviews, & I would like to comment on what I learned, which was reinforced by my own experience using my Kooler Laptop Cooling Pad.1. You don't need a lot of cooling fans; one big fan is enough, because the cooling comes from THE FLOW of steadily moving air past your computer's hot spots. Ducting (the flow of air in restricted passages), not from creating a "big blow" everywhere, is what does the job. The Cooling Pad design is excellent to get good ducted air flow along the bottom of your laptop & cool it effectively. It would seem to me that putting many fans on a cooling pad would wind up being counter-productive--you would have the fans working against each other, at least in part, & wouldn't get a nice steady ducted air flow set up.2. The "toilet paper" tests that people use to show the inadequacy of fan power, are in my opinion are nonsensical & misleading. First, the fans in ANY cooling pad device are (or should be) designed to move air through narrow ducts (like the one between the top of the pad & the bottom of your laptop), not move large volumes of cooling air throughout a 3D open space. Second, it takes a lot of electric power to move a lot of air with a fan. One USB port can only supply power to blow so much air, so you want to use that power efficiently & effectively. Therefore, one big center fan in a laptop base that provides good DUCTED AIR FLOW is what you need--& that's what the Kooler Cooling Pad design provides.3. My Cooling Pad fan makes less noise than the cooling fan in my laptop.So I'm very satisfied w/ the performance (& cost) of my Kooler Laptop Cooling Pad at this time. I haven't had it long enough to assess its long-term reliability, but so far I have had no problems w/ it whatever.

For a "quiet" fan, it's not that close to silent. It doesn't seem defective, it is justlouder than I expected. The plastic housing has a good (slight) angle to it with a lip at the front to keep the laptop from sliding off.Mostly, I'm annoyed about spam from this seller. I was content with an adequate value, that is until the seller contacted me for pre-emptive damage control. The excuse was just checking that I received the product and here is an FAQ... IF there is a recall, I want to hear about that. Otherwise, let me make first contact, if needed.

I had an old HP laptop (real workhorse!) that runs awfully hot, so I bought this cooling pad. Immediate and excellent results; the cooling fan in the laptop never gets to highest speed and this cooling pad fan is as nearly perfectly silent as it can be. My wife tried it for her old Toshiba laptop--and demanded I order another for her! Perfect results, accurate shipping times, everything good!

I have noticed a decrease in my laptop's temperature, plus the fan is extremely quiet, and I couldn't be happier! I would order from ELACS PRODUCTS any time and recommend this company highly.

The Kooler Laptop Cooling Pad, is keeping my laptop a lot cooler. Although recommended for a 12" to 16" laptop, my laptop is 17" and it's doing a fine job. I'm constantly streaming media over the internet and previously my laptop would get extremely hot to the touch and on a couple of occasions shut down. I would highly recommend this product.

Not really worth it, the mesh that covers fans collapsed when my daughter placed laptop incorrectly on fan.So as long as you are dainty with it and being very careful I guess it would work, but if you use your laptop quite a lot.Busy all the time, I wouldn't buy it, it won't stand up to any bumps on the mesh.

Great product and great vendor! Product was in mint condition precisely as advertised. Would buy from this vendor again without hesitation. I have a very ancient 17 inch laptop that refuses to die so I keep using it. The only problem is it gets very very hot. This solves the problem perfectly and will give me many more months or even years of use.
