Soft wood or hard ... it don't matter to this blade
I use this blade primarily on dovetail waste removal and I encounter just about all woods and I don't even consider changing blades. The SK7 cuts quickly, clean and easy too start.This is a quality blade with good longevity and performance.

Use for dovetailing work. No issues
Use for roughing out dovetail joinery with final paring work done with chisels. They work fine for that purpose.
