I bought a Brita filtered water bottle because I live in a region with very high water hardness and additives into the tap water. As such, storing unfiltered water for extended periods of time leads to the tell-tale sign of off-gasing of chlorine. The filters are able to significantly reduce the off-aroma.A good future improvement for the filters would be to add some sort of indicator to show when the filter needs to be changed. Not absolutely necessary, because, depending on the water quality, you'll be able to taste when to change filters. But it would be useful when you need to bring the water bottle to an extended excursion.Overall, the filter works as expected and is an invaluable buy if you need to replace your Brita filtered water bottle's filter.

I've been using these in a Brita filter bottle for over 6 months now and I love these! I preferred bottle water and didn't trust tap water so I switched to these to reduce plastic waste. I love having the option to refill a single use bottle and filter the water from any tap, rather than throwing away multiple plastic bottles a day. I've never had an issue with one of these, but a good way to tell if it's time to change it out is if it's becoming difficult to suck through the straw. I like to use stuff until it's spent so it gets it's maximum use so the first few times I changed it it probably wasn't there yet, I didn't realize how long it had been until I finally got around to switching one recently and I realized the water just came right up the straw and I didn't have to pull like I had a thick milkshake.
