Rubbermaid® Ice Cube Bin

Bought this and some Rubbermaid icetrays because my icemaker stopped working and repeated attempts to have it fixed were unsuccessful. It does the job beautifully; very satisfied. Holds the contents of the 4 icetrays I bought.

So it works Fine, except it is hard to get the bottom ice cubes. But it holds enough ice cubes .

Fill it with ice all the time .works perfect

At least one of my four stars is for Made in USA which I really appreciate.This is a serviceable little plastic ice bin, about the right size and shape to fit into most refrigerators and use most ice trays.I'm not crazy about it, primarily because it is not the exact size and shape I want in my particular fridge, so I'm using until I find better. I particularly dislike the tapered bottom. Why is it smaller at the bottom? That's a waste of space since it's still going to take up the footprint of the top part on your shelf.I also find it pretty cheap and unattractive looking. Many many not care in an ice tray, but I do as I'm kind of aeverything-gorgeous-in-my-kitchen kinda girl.But I can't in fairness take off more than one star for it being pedestrian looking so...there you go, objectively four stars for a product that does what it says it will and which looks only a little uglier in person than it's pic.PROSAbout the right size and shape to hold iceLightweight.Dishwasher safeCONSNo lid to keep out smells. I suppose people who use ice trays put them on top. I have automatic ice but also like to have a bin of ready-made ice available in the freezer.Kind of ugly and cheap looking in design. It looks kind of like anything you might buy at Target. Can I fault it? No. But I don't like it.Tapered at the bottom which seems like a waste of space. Why not make it the same size all the way up and down because otherwise you are just wasting space in your freezer.

I thought this container would be too wide for my freezer door, which is about 4" deep, because it states 5.5". But, as you see it's narrow at the base and widens as it goes to the top. Well, I didn't know if the 5.5" measurement was for near the base or up near the opening/top. I decided to go for it, and I'm so glad I did. The 5.5" is up at the top opening so the narrowing portion fits perfectly in the door shelf. Just wish they would include this measurement/info in their description.

This is perfect to store ice inside of you freezer door. It a bit narrower than needed for that space in our freezer which is fine. It is AMAZINGLY sturdy. They shipped it to me just stuffed in an Amazon bag with no wrapping or protection around it. Somehow, it survived the rough trip unphased. This really speaks to it's durability.

This is perfect for our freezer that doesn't have an ice machine! I like the sleek design of it and the sticker came right off after washing it with hot water and soap. It is really nice to have this to hold our ice cubes.
