I wish I hadn't waited so long
There are two types of RVers, those that do maintenance, and those that do not. I don't know what the percentage of each is, I'm guessing the ones that don't, don't stay RVers long because the RV falls apart. I'm kind of in the middle. Our travel trailer is 4 years old and I have inspected the seal twice. Both times it looked ok, but we just took it out for the first time in 9 months. After the trip there were several non-working things on the camper, and because of that I decided to reseal the roof whether it needed it or not. I'm not a fan of the RV industry, so I'm hesitant to take it into one of the dealers and leave it there for 3 months while they fix it. So DIY to the rescue. This stuff worked great. I started applying from the roof, and that was almost necessary for the front where the cap curves backward as the ladder wouldn't be stable there, and around the awning where the ladder would have to rest on the awning, but then I switched to the ladder. It was slower because you have to keep climbing down and moving the ladder but felt much safer than laying on my belly on the roof leaning over the side. Unfortunately, I'm not a perfectionist and there were a lot of little folds where I had to change direction on the tape because it had gone too far one way or the other, and some air bubbles I couldn't get out, but they were sealed under the tape so well I can't imagine it will be a problem. It seems like it should be fine, but time will tell.I think it's a tragedy that the RV industry doesn't install this from the get-go. Yes, it might be time consuming to put on, and if you have a broken sky-light, a giant pain to get off, but it's worth it for the peace of mind. I was putting it on thinking why don't I just cover the whole roof in it? Its not like I have a deck up there, who cares what it looks like from above. But that would probably cost a thousand dollars in tape. So just a pipe dream.

RV Sealing Tape
I bought this product to seal a couple of areas that needed new sealer on my camping trailer. I ended up sealing every area around the top of the trailer and everything that is attached to the roof. This tape is amazing! It is flexible enough to form around non flat surfaces, and once it is down, you can forget about pulling it back up, totally seals to the surface, including your fingers.

It just works.
Used this on a horse trailers aluminum roof 26 foot long worked great & 1 year later still looks great. Like others said. If it touches something it won't come off. Don't waste your time with other stuff IMHO.

Quality product, excellent adhesion to metal
Used product to seal top of RV slides. RV is permanently tied down to a site, hard plumbed and the slides are out - do not move. 6" Eternabond tape was used to seal slides, top and sides from weather. Tricky to work with as once the backing is removed from roll, if it sticks to anything..it's stuck! Used the tape in 2-3 foot sections to ensure it was small enough to handle. Excellent adhesion, tape is thick enough to protect and adheres to metal and fibreglass. Very happy with the product once we got the hang of keeping the sticky side away from surfaces until it was ready to be pressed down with a seam roller. Very happy with the purchase.

First time user.
So far the tap is working well. We have a long drive home; hopefully, it will stay secure on the trip home.
