Excellent display for PhotoShop, gaming, movies, etc. (with minor flaws)
PROS: 1440p resolution; excellent built-in scaler; colors are spot on thanks to IPS; tons of screen space for PhotoShop, etc.; stand is easy to adjust; OSD is unobtrusive and simple; extremely bright LED backlighting; great for gaming, no ghosting at all;CONS: the "IPS glow". The whites are too bright; black levels disappointingly low, difficulty during dark scenes; finicky viewing angle, sometimes visible light bleed;Worth the price in the end. 1440p is amazing to game with, though it will require hefty hardware (GTX 690 here). Blu-Ray movies actually scale extremely well, something I was worried about. Even close-up, 1080p video looks great. My monitor has one dead pixel so far with a month of ownership, noticeable, but not worth the hassle of returning. This is something that's mostly due to IPS panels, but the whites on this monitor are blindingly bright at the default 75% brightness. I often will crank up the brightness for dark scenes, only to decrease it for bright scenes. The monitor stand is easy to adjust, but vibrates quite easily. Lastly, the bezel menu buttons really ought to be backlit; I find myself fumbling to find them. And to address one common complaint from other reviews about a high-pitched whine when displaying certain font sizes (and from other causes), I can report that my Rev A01 panel does not do this.

Great Screen
The only thing I dislike is that the full resolution is only available via display port and I have only one computer supporting it.

Monitor is great but figuring out what cables will or won't work ...
Monitor is great but figuring out what cables will or won't work and which will give you the resolution you paid all that money for is beyond excruciating. I have a new Yoga 920 and bought a DisplayPort to USB-C cable to connect them. That does absolutely nothing. Why? No clue and can't find an explanation anywhere. Then I got an HDMI to USB-C cable. This one works, but only at a godawful 1920x1080 resolution. I'm so frustrated. I really just can't recommend this experience to anybody.

Had to exchange it after a month
The monitor was good. I am not particularly demanding as far as the quality of the picture, so I was fairly pleased... Until I the monitor got dimmer and I got vertical lines. I could get the picture back if I gently push in the middle of the back panel. It looked to me that there was a loose connection or wire inside the panel. The product support was excellent and in 10 min an exchange was arranged. Will see what happens

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27" Monitor with LED review
My computer guy just finished setting up my new computer system with this new Dell Ultra Sharp flat screen monitor and new Bose sound system. This flat screen is beautiful and works at the 2560x1400 high resolution when hooked up to the DVI-D to HDMI cable. I received version A05 from April 2014. I was leery due to all of the bugs I had read about, but that is why I have my computer guy to set up my system. He calibrated everything, got the speed up and running, and even on this snowy day with my shades in my office open, I am able to type and see everything clearly.I love this monitor and I am glad that Amazon sent me the newest revision. I think I paid the $610 for this monitor but it was a bargain compared to BB here in Littleton, that charged me $800 for this same monitor. I returned it to and ordered this one through Amazon. It came in a Dell box, so well packed. I love it. I am so glad I purchased this.

Outsized screen and performance to match
Initially, the size of the screen is a little overwhelming, but in no time the extra real estate becomes second nature. The clarity is exceptional, startling clear. Running at the highest resolution brings out every detail, and it also shows the limitations of lower resolution images. It is very easy to set up, although I have not tried to run any color calibrations as the performance out of the box is so good I really didn't see any need. Despite the massive size of the screen, the footprint itself is quite compact, but even so the unit is very stable. I have no complaints on this unit. My only lingering concern is durability, as I have read complaints from others regarding premature failure. My unit has been in operation for a month and so far so good, but so long as it continues to operate, I'm a very happy camper.

Wonderful Monitor
Beautiful monitor.I purchased this monitor mainly for gaming, the deciding factors was the build quality of Dell and the fantastic color reproduction. If you're sitting on the bench between a 120hz monitor or a 1440p monitor in my personal opinion go for the higher resolution, the imagery is simply gorgeous and you must experience it for yourself.I can't tell you what to buy because everyone has there preferences, however I do advocate doing some research and looking into this monitor because the quality has been amazing.

What a difference
I've never spent nearly this much on a monitor, and frankly I was nervous that I'd end up with something that I didn't feel was worth the money. I've purchased high end audio equipment before, based on specs and reviews, and in the end I just couldn't hear much difference. But this 27" IPS display is truly gorgeous...I kept my 21" Samsung as a 2nd monitor, and side-by-side there really just isn't any comparison. Prior to getting the Dell, I had thought my Samsung was a perfectly nice display...after the Dell, I almost want to throw the Samsung away and get another IPS.
