I sharpened some old knives and it definitely made them cut better.. It's nice to have if you need something quick. Not the best construction, but it's also not very expensive. If you need an expensive and quick knife sharpener, it works.

This is an excellent knife sharpener

I sharpen knives with a stone or ten. I know how to do it. I have a few knives that are really worn from being sharpened wrong this thing will cut fast enough to put a new angle on the blade that can then be sharpened.. it can actually put a decent edge also but I just use it to dress up badly sharpened knives that would take forever with a stone.

This thing works amazingly well. I’ve used it dozens of times and it’s broke in very nicely and use it as a Maintainance sharpener. Highly recommend.

The sharpener itself is fine, it's the handle that's an issue. There is no lock or latch on it, so the sharpener tends to pivot sideways. The plastic is not the highest grade either. With a better handle and a greater difference in the grit between either side would make this a 5 star, as is it's a bit too wobbly.

I was a bit skeptical of this product, but since my sharpening stones were packed away I decided to give it a try. Although the housing is a bit flimsy (other reviews have noted this), it does a good job of putting a basic edge on both my pocket knives and kitchen knives. I still prefer to finish with a 1200 grit stone, but for putting a quick edge on a dull knife, it works!

It's small,fits in the pocket. Does a good job restoring an edge to your every day carry knife.
