Quality TV, Frustrating Delivery Process
The TV is great. I also have a Sony x900h in the family room and absolutely love the snappy interface. For the garage, the x800h (this tv) is a much better pick as it is bright and has a great viewing angle. The x900h is capable of a brilliant picture so long as you are dead center in front of the TV, it gets washed out at the sides. The interface to the x900h feels more snappy. Still very happy with the x800h though - great TV and perfect for its location. Frustrating delivery process, said I could have it as soon as 4 days from date of purchase. After purchase ran thru i received an email to schedule with a freight service and they were over 3 weeks out. I made arrangements to be home for the scheduled delivery and get a call after the delivery window (after first calling in the morning to verify tv would be delivered that day) that the TV was too large for the delivery truck. Eh? It’s a 65”… So 2 days later had to make arrangements to be home again and the TV arrived about 4 wks after purchase. The product is great but will not be buying another TV from Amazon due to this experience.

Excellent
I’ve had tv a few months, works great!, love all the internet apps and using google account with tv, that has more free apps for Sony tv, love Airplay apple feature, on my iPad I can can just tap AirPlay and Then I see everything on Tv, movies from IPad or YouTube, anything your watching on ipad will transfer To tv with Airplay feature, very nice!!!, Excellent picture quality, 4K works very good when watching Streamed movies in 4K, Or music concerts in 4K, A lot of movie apps, and music apps, That have many Concerts in 4K, Tv Speakers are ok not to bad, a little tiny, but turn volume up sounds ok, I have a sound bar, with sub woofer, so it improves the sound a lot, But still not to bad without sound bar, my old Sony Didn’t have all the newer internet apps and stuff, so this TV is a big upgrade, well worth it!!!, best TV I have owned so far, Excellent TV!!!

Sony 43 inch X800H TV
Before I purchased this TV I bought a TLC Roku and there was a world of a difference. Setting up was easy and streamline. I was a bit confused that it was asking for Google play and Android connection since It said it connect to Alexa.I am a OS Apple user so I was concerned that I needed a Android phone. It did connect to Alexa and I just ignored the rest. The picture is clear and although not as great as OLED the color are detail and rich. I like the speed of changing Channels and volume. The remote control is awesome. We have the TV hooked up to an outdoor antenna and when we want to watch Cable we connect to the internet by pressing the AP button. You do have to download the Apps let say you want to add HBO, Disney, Prime Video and Youtube etc. I like the TV button where you press it and you are on local tv channels. There is a Netflix button and Google Play button which will directly send you to those providers. I like the voice command where.I can tell it to go to youtube to watch my favorite videos if you are on youtube search for whatever subject you want by voice command, and when I want to go back to TV just hit the TV button. The remote is slim and light and easy to hold and the buttons are very clear. I am very satisfied with this unit and still exploring the other options.

The Sony X800H is a good TV but only for Daytime Viewing of Cable broadcasts
Our experience with the Sony X800H & the ills of its IPS panel leaves us with some clear impressions: First, and most important, this model does not display well in a dark room and is a poor choice for night time movie, Netflix or DVD watching. There is significant light bleed through when the original intent is to show a black screen with only a logo, title, screen credit and the like. Dark scenes are not Film Noir with this set as the bleed through spoils the dark areas particularly in the lower areas & corners. Frustrating is that when you watch a series, each between scene change displays a partially washed out screen when the intent was to show a momentary black screen. We could not shake the disappointment as we were used to our Sony X900F 49 inch TV which preserves, for the most part, what the original show is trying to display. In fairness, read on. The TV's performance in a well lit or daytime setting is admirable. Very bright, clear and easy to enjoy watching cable content. Some of this enjoyment disappears if we put on a DVD or switch to Netflix. This is the perfect set for an automobile dealer to use in a customer waiting room or for a store to use as a demo unit. Again, watching cable news or main channel programming, the set was enjoyable to view. The set we received was clearly a repacked unit and the box showed much wear & tear. The bagged set was in disarray and the accessories, paperwork, etc. were casually thrown in. Still, we have enough faith in Sony not to let this top us from trying the set and we gave it our best shot. We wall mounted intending to keep it and powered it up without a problem. Noted was a much improved navigating response time and a welcomed quick "opt out" of the apps which we avoid. We do use Netflix and hope to see Britbox soon but that is all. The power up, channel change, function change times are the best we have ever seen. On the "con" side however are two points that disappoint us: first, while the TV detects and automatically changes to a powered up DVD player, the TV WILL NOT change back to the cable box. There is an advertised setting for this be we could not find it. Secondly, the new simplified remote omits the important DVD functions such as eject, chapter change, etc. We solved this by using our X900F remote and it worked well but we should not have had to do this. In Summary: the poor black level performance, absense of local backlight dimming, and excessive bleed through were the game changers. We love cinema and any TV worth its salt must display the classsic movies with 35mm quality. Despite the loss of time, the additional work and the inconvenience of dealing with UPS's unreliable pick up service, we are returning the set and will study the VA panels and the QLED options. We hope these comments will help someone else in selecting their set. Cheers.

For regular movie streaming, even at 4K HDR, the TV does a decent job. I have 4K Blu-ray torture disks that can show the limits of the HDR and some weakness in black levels. The lack of local dimming can show up, but for local dimming or full array lights are only available on TVs that today cost much more. If all you watch is netflix or amazon prime, or youtube, you won't really see enough of a difference to justify buying a more expensive set (the video in those services are often over compressed anyway), so this is an excellent set in early 2021 in terms of value for money if you really want an 85" TV (Why won't you want an 85"?) At 85", even 15 feet away, talking heads are huge, the wall can still easily take another 43 inches, but for now this is big enough.

It's easy to find cheaper options in this product category. I've bought several of them, and none of them looked or performed as well as this TV. I know this is one of Sony's cheaper models, but I would still consider it an upgrade over a lot of the other TVs out there that cost a few hundred less. The remote, the menu options, the customizability, the sound quality, the packaging, and hopefully the longevity of this Sony seem like improvements over the competitors. I also appreciate the very low input lag when using the "Game" mode.

I am actually a Sony fan and always go with Sony TVs. Very good design for the price. If you don't really need OLED or QLED stuff this is the best choice. Great for Nintendo console and streaming. Lots of compatible android apps and many more...

This TV is a pleasure from the point of view of image quality, and the technology seems quite robust. Delivery of something like this scared me a bit, but Amazon came through with flying colors a day early.
