APS Stainless Steel Pocket Steps Running Boards Compatible with Toyota Tacoma 2005-2023 Double Crew Cab

I purchased a new 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR5. The dealer wanted $900 to put on some simple round bar steps and a local place wanted $700. So I took a chance and it paid off. They arrived well secured and undamaged in a very sturdy double thick cardboad box about 7' tall and a foot wide, strapped and taped secure. Once opened, they were also well protected by cushioning and the individual parts to assemble were taped down so they wouldn't slide around. They were pretty easy to assemble. Goes faster with a socket drill. The steps have to be attached to the bars so be sure to screw those in on the two outside facing screws first before tightening up any of the T-bolts from the underside. Otherwise you'll have to loosen them and do it all over - this was not mentioned in the directions I received and would definitely help future buyers. There are three very strong steel brackets for each side of the truck. They screw into pre-threaded holes that exist on the Tacoma's underside. Very easy. Tighten nice and tight but dont max it out. The rails with the steps then set on top of the brackets and screw in. Pretty straight forward. Took me about two hours with no rush, just listening to my 70s tunes out in the garage and getting after the kids for walking on my grass, and enjoyed a pepsi the whole times - so all in all an enjoyable Sunday afternoon for everyone (but the kids hahah). Once completed they held my weight fine (i'm 240 lbs) and my wife who is just 5'-4" LOVES them, makes it much easier for her to hop in. And my dad who is in his 80s will love them to. And Even though I'm 6'-1", they really help me out getting in the seat - I can just put my right foot up and just ease right in, then push of them with my left. Gets me under the low steering wheel a lot easier then without them. They're made of a very thick aluminum and and the brackets of steel. All hardware appears to be steel as well. Welds were well done. Didn't see any crack or poor work on them. BTW, the iArmor logo is cut into the rails, see thru style. They include a red decal that can be placed behind the opening to make the logo pop, but I didn't use it - i like the clean look better. What i like about these: strong, very wide steps and deep enough my size 12 shoe fits easily on it with no issue. Plus, stub wall is solid so you foot won't slip thru if there happens to be ice on the step or you misjudge it. But I doubt if ice will ever by a problems as there are several nice sized drain slots in the steps, plus grip. These make my new Tacoma look like a tank or like the Battlestar Galactica - strong, visually pleasing, and very functional. Not like those wimpy little 3" round bar steps at the dealership. I highly recommend these steps and hope they will last a long time. And if not, at the price, I'll just buy them again.

Well built, look great, and, easy to install on my Tacoma!

These side steps are well made, easy to install and very sturdy. They fit perfect on my 2023 Toyota SR5 4x4. The 4-inch drop places the step in the ideal position for entering and exiting the vehicle. Their design also prevents you from kicking the side of the truck when entering the vehicle. The step is large and in comfortable to use. Installation is straight forward, and the instructions provided are easy to understand. The only change I would make to the installation instructions is to loosely place the mount brackets on the vehicle first to give you a support to place the sidestep on. After the sidestep is in place tighten all the mount nuts and bolts. Do not overtighten, the product uses nut certs which are good and support an easy installation, but they can be stripped out easily if you over tighten the bolts. The Toyota Tacoma comes predrilled from the factory for the installable of side steps. Total install time with a flat tip screwdriver and 12mm socket was about 40 minutes. Definitely recommend.

Very happy with these steps, stylish design and well built. Simple bolt on instillation with 2 sockets, a wrench and a large slotted screwdriver to pull out the 12 plastic plugs. I installed it by myself with a box and a couple of 2x4 scraps to get the right height then simple bolted on to the brackets that I had already mounted with finger tight supplied hardware. The entire installation took me slightly less than one hour including cleanup and putting everything away! They look great, much better than the ones that were at the dealership for about $200 more.

Shipping was fast and free. Package was in good shape on arrival and all the parts were well protected. All parts are in plastic wrap (green for driver side or clear wrap passenger side.) Installing by myself using jack stands took about 90 minutes. Easy install, directions were sufficient. They look great on the truck and are very sturdy. For some reason Amazon says they don’t fit my vehicle (2021 Toyota Tacoma Limited double cab) but they fit perfectly without any drilling or modifications. My short wife loves them because she can get into the cab now! My only negative comment is that some of the weld spots are not very smooth. FYI- on my install the small bolts for the rocker panel are 1/2 inch. The large bolts for the brackets are 5/8 inch but the hex nuts that screw onto them are 17mm. Kind of weird. Would recommend.

I definitely recommend buying this product. I get compliments on these daily and everyone I know loves the look and sturdiness. No complaints here.

I just acquired a 2020 taco off road and plan on blackening everything out. This are a great addition for the look of the truck. I don’t use them myself, but are good for the shorter ppl in your life. I found that installation could have been more easier. You have to attach the steps to the bars. Using t-bolts can be very frustrating at times. After watching some YouTube videos, the install process went by somewhat smooth. Very happy with the outcome. I definitely recommend this product for your taco.

These are really nice! Easy to install and look great on my Tacoma. One suggestion is to get an 8mm tap to ensure the threaded holes on the truck body are smooth but this product had great instruction and easy to follow.

These look great, and installed very easily. Great instructions too. My only concern is that the metal seemed on the thin side (which shouldn't be surprising considering the price point) and that some of the welds weren't perfectly continuous around all edges. Not expecting this will be the best product for standing up to road salt and/or a rock strike while roaming in the bush, but time will tell.

These steps look great. Feel like good quality. I would recommend. The only issue was the slotted bolts attaching the steps to the brackets. Those are not very fun to deal with. They should have studs that slide maybe. But for the price I, very happy with them.

Perfect fit for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. I would give this 5 stars but the hardware is not made of the same material as the running boards and are showing signs of rust already and it has only been a little over 3 months. Keep in mind that I live in Nova Scotia, near the ocean, so I was prepared for something to rust, but it is not the boards the themselves, so that it a great sign of longevity. If they make it through their first Nova Scotia winter without rusting, they are a keeper. Boards were very easy to install by myself. I will be spraying the existing hardware with a salt resistant coating when I change my tires over to winters. And they look good to boot! Highly recommended.
