The Book of Psalms in English & Latin (English and Latin Edition)

I read one psalm a day starting in Lent and finished recently after a few breaks and can now read with some degree of fluency. My trick was to not force or memorize anything- read once in Latin only silently, read a second time while referring to the English to learn the words and the read aloud slowly in Latin only. I then remember most of the words because I am using them in context instead of empty memorizing. The Psalms are perfect for prayer, or simply a philosophical insight into daily life for non-believers. This book is an excellent tool.

This is an excellent edition of Myles Coverdale's translation of the Psalter. It is an alternate page, English/Latin translation that is well presented in a format that lends itself to pleasurable reading. It is a paperback edition and it would be nice if it was also made available in a hardback edition, or, best of all, bound in leather and printed on onionskin paper, but I am grateful that it is available at all. each psalm is in English on the left page and in Latin on the right page so it's easy to always see both translations next to each other. a normal paperback, would love some fancy bible leather and gold pages, but alas it is a fantastic book without the flair

Loved this book on the Psalms in Latin, I could not believe my eyes when I ran across this. I love the psalms rituals prayers and being able to use them in Latin, does not even begin to express the level of excitement I get. these psalms are in English with the Latin version next to each psalm and you can always google the Latin to English translation to learn how to sound the words out. now I can wake up recite a psalm in the morning and before I go to bed.

Just what I was looking for, as I am composing music setting selected psalms.

Wonderful translation in both Latin and English. Very satisfied.
