Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide 2016

As a free service user of Kovels, I received an email announcing their 2017 pricing guide at 29.99 + shipping. Deciding to purchase was thought out and which caused for me to purchase this version instead. As a personal property appraiser, we are constantly looking for black and white support of pricing for our appraisal assignments. I opted to buy last year's edition as I know values would not change drastically. I will give Kovels 5-Stars for bookbinding, but it stops there. The information is woefully our of date, the contents poorly laid out, and pictures provide zero use at all. As a Lladro collector, I personally own more than they have listed. So you have to ask yourself if they are not going to update the list, or at a minimum provide the buyer a true value, then why support Kovels? I can tell you now, it is a good thing I did not become a paid subscriber to their service.This book falls short for nearly everyone, professionally, and personally. You are shooting blind to believe something you own might be listed in the book. If you are an appraiser, then buying an earlier version, as I did may be the way to go. But do so knowing it may be a waste of money. Again, this book is NOT a useful tool for a professional appraiser.

Very hard for a new person to look up prices the way its arranged . If you pick up a piece and are not sure of the material or category or description , you can get lost fast. I guess it might be good for people who know the system but for new people its hard to grasp it ..

This is pretty much the definitive work for sellers and collectors. Even the back issues old enough to loose value as a price guide still provide data and variety.

Great reference book for antiques and collectibles for my business library. No problems with the seller, item, nor shipping. Book arrived in great condition.

This is the uncontested BIBLE of Antique and Collectible values. Updated every year, only Antique Trader competes.Outstanding content that is cleary well researched and reported. Highly Recommended

I bought this for my daughter. She is collecting things that are old. I felt she should have this book. I loved it and found it interesting.

Totally useless to me I should have read the description better. Not the sellers fault all mine.

I was not able to find what I needed (looking for ice cream molds). It was difficult to understand how they had things categorized, unless you are a dealer (at least that's how I found it to be).
