Great Sound reproduction Discontinued?..
I own 8 high quality earphones and this is the only earphone that I would say that I'm truely glad that I got before it was discontinued. I read some good reviews at a headphone forum and when they went on sale in November 2012 for under a bill I had to try them. Well all the positive reviews were right. These accuratley reproduce the source and are by far the best sounding earphones in this price range. They are balanced and neutral. The bass is tight and punchy, the mids are just slightly forward in a good way and the detail is amazing and the best part is that these earphones put them all together perfectly. They can be driven from my 80gb Zune with windows lossless but due benefit from a portable amp even a cheap Filo e6 or better headroom amp. They really sound great from a good home receiver and CDs. These truely are earphones that the better the source and the better a CD is produced the better the sound. I've done side by side comparisons with my other IEM and these can keep up with them all. These earphones are not ment for electronic synthesized low frequency bass but they do accuratly produce drums and bass instruments extremley well.FootnoteIt's sad that CD quality production and recording has gone so far downhill with more and more CDs sounding LOUD, with no instrument seperation and terrible dynamic range, to many newer CDs sound like all the instuments and vocals are are bunched together, at the same level and with unnatural bass. I guess these earphones do not fit well with this newer poorly produced music..........

Something that sounds this good should hold up longer than 40 days
I agree with everyone here on the sound quality that these earbuds deliver. This was the main reason I got them, as they also received a great rating from head-fi.org (Google search 'iem review head fi' then search for 'Brainwavz b2' on the page). Unfortunately, this amazing sound quality is worth nothing when the product dies so early. I got these as a sound upgrade to a pair of Shure earbuds that I've had since january 2009, and the reason that I replaced those was because the signal was starting to occasionally cut out in one side. When I put these in today, the right side wasn't cutting out, it was simply failing to produce any good sound at all; it sounds like it has shorted somewhere in the connection. The Shure earbuds I upgraded from don't cut out this bad. I have already contacted the seller about taking care of the warranty, but I just have a bad feeling that these won't last long once that warranty expires. Buy at your own risk, and prepare to have to baby them.As disappointed as I am that they are dead, and as frustrated as I am that I'm having to enact the warranty only days outside my return window, these sound so good that once the warranty does expire on the replacement ones I will be performing a cable upgrade to ensure that they last, because they do sound absolutely fantastic when working properly. It's a shame, really. I plan to bump the review rating up once I get them replaced, but for now, this is only 1 star worthy; I've had cheap Skullcandy earbuds last longer than this, and sound quality doesn't mean a thing when one half of the signal is ruined.

After only 2 weeks and 5 uses the left airbud stopped working/bass static distorted.
Very disappointed. I tried to buy reasonable quality in-ear headphones. After only about 5 hours of use the left ear bud stopped working. I let them sit a few days and when I tried again the left ear bud worked, but the bass was distorted and it ruins the experience. Of course I through the packaging away after they initially worked thinking I had a quality product after paying over $100. And the sound quality, although good, is not amazing or maybe I just can't properly perceive with distorted bass now.

Great Sound in An Ugly Plastic Body
The B2s were disconcerting at first impression as the plastic molded bodies appeared to be very low quality with several rough spots along their surfaces. I thought they would be uncomfortable to wear in the ear because of all these rough areas, but thankfully the parts that touch the ear were all smooth. At this price point though, I expected at the very least good quality plastic housing, if not wood (like the similarly priced Thinksound TS02s) or metal (like the Monster Turbines, available at this time for half the price of the B2s).This thankfully was the low point of the ownership experience, The tip selection and accessory pack were high quality, and the braided cord was well made and attractive. Brainwavz gives you a lot for your money. These phones use dual Knowles drivers in each housing, a not uncommon configuration these days, but Brainwavz was the first company to offer this driver set at such a low price point. The literature claim that one driver is for low freqs and the other for high is not exactly accurate. but the two drivers do reinforce each other to give a nicely balanced sound. In particular, the B2s give true "audiophile sound"; that is to say, balanced, accurate clear sound. There is a very slight bass boost to help replace the tactile bass thump that makes listening to larger speakers pleasant, but the sound in general is both pleasant and carefully balanced. Note these are not for thumpheads! Unlike some other BW products, there is no extreme bass emphasis. You can hear the bass in the music, but it is proportional and not over-powering. Both IEM's mentioned earlier - Thinksound TS02 and Monster Turbines - have lots more bass, but are also less accurate by far.I listen to a lot of classical and acoustic jazz, and these B2s sound just about perfect for that purpose. A well-recorded classical piece like Rattle's Brahms Symphonies with the BPO, sounds unnatural and thumpy on the Thinksounds, It sounds like Brahms has three or four extra timpanis thumping away and a boosted double bass string section. The same recording sounds perfectly proportioned and detailed on the B2s; bass is there, but it does not wash out the mids or highs. However, modern amplified stuff like Lamb of God (metal) or Massive Attack (downtempo electronica) sounds decent on the B2s but not exceptional. If you never listen to acoustical music, you might want some other Brainwavz model. These are best worn with cable up (that is to say worn with cable wrapped around each ear) and when used as such are not at all microphonic (they do not carry friction noises when the cable bumps or rubs up against anything). Isolation is fine, with even acoustic music sounding loud and clear on the subway at moderate volume, and the long term wearing comfort factor is very good.So to summarize, if you like musical accuracy and listen to genres that do not need over-emphasized bass, the B2s are a great deal at their price point. The body's build quality is disappointing, but the phones themselves have held up well in months of use, and the accessory pack and cable quality is excellent. In particular, the cable for the B2s is way better than those used by MEElectronics. The MEE A161 is a great IEM that is wrecked by a dreadful cable. The B2s in comparison have a much better quality cable that feels sturdier and is less stringy. (Though the driver housings on the MEEs are much nicer, oh well.)Brainwavz impressed me with this product. I was expecting the usual Best Buy Bass thump that many audio manufacturers seem to be aiming for these days, and instead got a really good sound that is probably worth more than I paid for it, The company should fine tune their housing QC process a bit, especially at this price point. Other than that, all is good here!

Brief Review of the Brainwavz B2
Pros: Amazingly detailed and sparkly highs; fluent and detailed, slightly forward mids; tight, punchy and detailed bass.Cons: Bass doesn't extend very far; slightly sibilant when using silicone tips; cable could use an outer wrapper.Hello and welcome to my first Head-Fi review...ever!Having owned the Brainwavz B2 for around seven months, I have had enough time with them to write an honest, unbiased review; albeit a brief one.PriceI bought these in the UK for £100 (about $155 USD) in December 2011, and was pleasantly surprised seeing as they originally retailed for a lot more. Are they worth the money? You'll have to read the conclusion to find out.HighsThe Brainwavz B2 features two balanced armature drivers: one woofer, for lows and mids and one tweeter, for the highs. Whomever tuned the tweeter is a genius, as these have the best highs I've ever heard from an IEM before. At first, when I put these in my ears for the first time (using the supplied silicone tips), I was seriously unimpressed: the bass was thin, the mids were okay, and the treble was seriously off-putting; it hurt my ears. Since using the Shure Black Olives, everything sounds 10x better. The highs are crispy, delicious, full of sparkle and detail, and are very revealing. I often find myself EQing my other headphones to highten the treble, as I now love the sound signature of these IEMs.MidsThe mids -- when combined with some foam tips -- are very impressive, too. They are slightly forward and very revealing, and detailed. The mids are a bit too airy though, and may sound unnatural to some. Also, there is also a peak in the higher mids that may sound a bit harsh to some. All in all, they pack some seriously good mids for the price point.LowsThese IEMs pack a rather controversial sound signature; that is, if you're used to cheaper headphones with lots of bass. If you love your bass, steer clear of these! These are not for bassheads. Not even for people whom enjoy a slightly forward bass sound signature. You see, the world today has made newcomers believe that bass is everything when it comes to music, so it takes a while to get used to the bass on these, as the lows, mids and highs are pretty much flat. This may make the lows seem weak compared to the cheaper, dynamic driver-based competition out there, but it's not: the bass is there, and with a good seal with your tip of choice (preferably foam), the bass is very revealing, and comes out when it's called. It is also thumpy, but lacks the sub-bass rumble that other headphones posses. In my tests, these only extend down to around 30Hz, before quickly rolling off to nothing. The bass is, however, very quick, very tight and very detailed.ConclusionFor the price, you'll be extremely hard-pressed to find a better IEM. The main competitors to this model are the UE 700 (featuring the same type of dual balanced armature drivers), the q-JAYS, and the VSONIC GR07. I do not own these other models, so I cannot comment on them, but seriously...I don't think sound can get much better at this price point. I would happily pay 50% more for these!

Genial.

Great drivers & sad wire disappointment
I bought these earphones over a year ago and I didn't really regret spending 100 pounds (price then). Sound is awsame; in middles and highs you can explore a lot, b2 are veeery "shiny", full of light, in my oppinion presence of vocals is direct and in general they are fantastic for listening to human voices. Bass is calm, but fast and if you turn the volume up you will hear it well and enjoy it even greater, unless you are demanding total bass-head, or your ears are simply a proper wood-cut.Unfortunately, if you listen to music calmly in the city you will not hear much, bass will be cut off, no metter if you use comply foams included. As I don't listen to music loud, I found these earphones great for home evening usage - in silence they show what they're worth. Here comes however the disappointment: cable looked cheap from very beginning and I thought that two-way high quality drivers in very nice box could have something more than wire looking INDEED like made of pence per meter sort! Come on? Who chose it and why?I tried not to think of it, but couldn't for too long. The wire became stiffer and stiffer in time. In a cold day, especially during frosts quite unpleasant to wear. Finishing a year of usage connection broke on one chanel near the plug. After next 1.5 month cable totaly broke near at second end, near one of the phones, remaining now hanging on some tiny string, breaking connection permanently, of course.Btw. Only way to wear them is "over the ear". Wire quality was creating awful noises from the very beginning and only leading it over the ear could stop it (more or less).Make your own choice - _I_ am really mad. How could the manufacturer spoil such piece of work with such rubbish cord! For 100 pound? Or even 60 now? Come on. If I was simply meant to buy something new after a year, then Brainwavz didn't hit the target - I'm voiding these guys now. Fantastic drivers designed to be wasted!

De lo mejorcito.
Excelentes in-ear, totalmente recomendables para clásica y jazz sin desmerecer el resto de géneros. Perfil muy resolutivo. No son bajistas.
