First off, there seems to be some misconceptions about what this product is for. This will NOT "sound proof" a room so that external sound doesn't get in or internal sound doesn't get out. It's foam. No foam with do that, that defies logic, it's porous. If you want to "sound proof" a room in that way you're going to need to reconstruct your walls with something very dense that sound waves cannot pass through, like concrete.What this DOES do is reduce the amount of sound waves that reflect off walls causing reverberation or echo. Due to how thin this foam is and the depth of the "pits", it's only going to be good for higher frequencies. You'll reduce a broader range of high frequency reflection if you get something a little thicker(and also more expensive), so be sure to check to see what frequency ranges are causing you the most problems. Spectral analyzer apps for smartphones are free and can help.These along with some thicker panels and a few bass traps in the corner can tame the echo/reverb in an apartment bedroom, but don't expect miracles. To properly acoustically treat a room you're going to have to spend a decent amount of money and do a bit of planning. But if you're looking for something cheap that will help cut down some of the high frequency reverb, this is better than nothing.I use my bedroom as a small budget "home studio" for composing various types of music(mostly orchestral) and playing guitar. 2 dozen of these plus a small bass trap in each ceiling corner has made the room much more adequate. Prior to installing these just normal talking would cause a lot of echo/reverb. That no longer happens and I can mix much more accurately without having the room's natural "color" affecting my judgment as much.

The price is great but this item is not perfect.As some others have stated, the coloring of the panels can be slightly different (not a big deal), but I even had some that had a different feel/material like it was made of a different foam. It just looks bad when they're all together.My biggest problem was that one (of 3 packs) that I order was the COMPLETELY WRONG item. It was 3/4 in foam rather than 1.5 in and was not the egg crate but rather like long spiked channels. I was in a hurry to get these and now am behind schedule because my packs didn't match. Amazon gave me a small gift card and sent another 3 sets (even though I only needed one), but they weren't able to overnight it.I appreciate Amazons response, but beware of the item before order as you may get the wrong thing or very inconsistent panels in one pack.

Looks good. Check out the video. About 3/4" tallest point but feels solid in the base. The gray looks less ripply I think now, because you cant see the shadows in the dips of the foam as well as you can with the blue foam.

This 6 piece foam was perfect for our DIY voice recording booth. Color matches the one on Amazon website and it doesn’t have any kind of smell. I will now be able to record better audio with my Yeti Microphone.

I bought this set to use for the small window above the double doors in my room. I work nights, so these help block out the sun while I'm trying to sleep. They have helped make my room so comfortable for sleep! I realize this isn't the reason most people are buying these, just wanted to give my two cents about my nontraditional use for them!

It was just what I needed to make my little sound booth box! Sturdy and sound blocking. Plus cut custom for the microphone mount well!

This product does do the job as expected. It is not for soundproofing a room but just for removing echo in a room that has empty walls. Of course this is the cheap selection and not the thickest material or pattern style on the market. Not quite 1 inch thick, but it does work and adds a nice style and look to a room. It can be configured in multiple ways for your taste at the same time eliminating echo in the room.So far this item has met my expectations and I already ordered my second pack. If you're looking for a low-budget solution for a room that you need to eliminate echo in. I do recommend you getting at least 24 because one pack of 12 goes quickly. Also don't forget to get your double-sided tape for mounting it to the wall, this seller does not provide it for you.I do recommend this product. thank you for reading my review.

I used these on the inside of the room where the sound was being generated. Mostly to try to absorb some vibrations from a coin miner. Keeping in mind these are not designed to eliminate sound, I think they did a good job in reducing the vibrations and lowering the volume of sound coming through (I placed the panels against the door, being the lowest density point of the room). It certainly is better with the panels that without
