Update: The person I purchased for is so appreciative as this has made getting in and out of bed easy again. Pretty impressive since they were completely against it and would not order one themselves. Purchased for elderly who was completely against having a rail of any kind but had begun falling out of bed. It is small enough to reach around to alarm clock on bedside table AND to be able to sit up and easily get out of bed. Easy to install. They love it for helping them to sit up in bed, as that had been a struggle. Have not fallen out of bed since installation. Soft handle is easy to grip. Pockets are great for the remote and phone to be in at night for easy retrieval. Attitude towards “bed rail” is now positive. Definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a little help either staying in bed and/or getting into a sitting position from laying down. Can be installed on either side of bed.

Got this for my 81 year old mom. This has worked out really well for her, gives her just the little extra something to pull up on. Especially useful when she was ill and lost some strength and needed to hold onto something. Easy to install and haven't had any issues with it moving when being used. Of course Mom only weights 100 lbs, so not a lot of stress on it. I do like the cover on it, although she doesn't use it. I had read another review that mentioned an experience that handles without the cover could be a safety hazard with the user's arm somehow becoming entangled in the handle itself. I got this for my Mom because she's had several episodes of rolling off her bed at night. I was a little worried about how she would like it, but she LOVES IT! This bar is not nearly as long as a traditional bed rail, so it's much less intrusive and takes up little space. It was easy for me and my Dad to install. There are straps that go under the mattress, to the other side of the bed, to anchor it down good. These straps attach to the bottom tubes where the top rail fits down into them, at whatever height you want. During the day, she takes the upper part off (it's easy to remove) for more freedom of movement on and off her bed. At night, she just slides it back into the bottom tubes. She also likes the padded grip handle and mesh pockets. I'm so glad I found this for her. This piece of equipment gives my Mom a feeling of security and keeps her safe from rolling off the bed.

I purchased this product for my husband. He weighs approx 230lb. This is the best economical bed rail. It is easy to assemble and attaches to the bed frame. Very sturdy! Since the purchase, he has not fallen out of bed and he feels safe to roll knowing the rail is there. The rail also offers him stability getting in and out if bed. The additional pockets are a great asset. He needs oxygen at night and uses a long oxygen hose. In the morning, he places the hose in the pockets for easy storage. The hose is no longer in the way. He uses the other pockets to store his kindle and other misc items. The rail is the perfect size for our queen size bed and is not an eye sore if you are concerned about presentation looks.

This railing works quite well and the pockets are really helpful. I prefer this straight-top railing to the typically curved ones that are offered. It means more railing is available to grab when it's dark in the room. I keep my Bose headphones in one pocket and the cord to the headphones in another. That way I can listen to a book on Audible if I can't quite fall asleep. It is very sturdy. There is no fear of it falling out or bending. It's rock-solid and adds a lot of security.

I put this on a metal platform bed. The strap was good but not sufficient for keeping it in place. We put velcro strips in various places and it's now stable. Also used a cable tie. I cut the pocket that says don't cut the pocket because I needed to access the corners of the top in order to get out of bed. And I didn't turn into a pumpkin! Once it was stable, I love it.

Elderly Mother 89 years old was falling out of bed. My Father is 93 and lifting her up was getting extremely hard for him. I look at a lot of different products and found this one to be the best. I was glad I chose it because Mom loves it. I am out of town from them and my sister in law had no problem putting it together for them. They said it was easy. It fits perfectly on the bed and keep her from falling and also helps her lift herself out of bed.

Service at its best... I have used on both sides of my queen mechanical bed for the reasons of access and of course comfort when moving within the bed. I do like the assist. I don't care for the pockets since these have very little wiggle room to hold items and things fall within the pockets. It often becomes a search and find the item held and this is cumbersome. I have attached a hook system to hold the remote for the television and the lights and this does make it easier to locate. The bed remote lies on the mattress since it is easier to find when needed. Overall though for the money you cannot go wrong with the handrail for support. The under the mattress straps do hold the rails securely. I did buy two.

Hard to install, but once it's set, it's a fantastic object. After I got one for my grandma, I even bought one for myself and got rid of my night table. I can put my phone, tablet and water bottle in its pockets and that frees up a lot of space in my room.
