how is it?Does it work well?

The cartridges fit the pens correctly, are easy to change and work perfectly.... no problems. I also have one of the refillable converters, but I only use that in the Lamy pen I keep at home. For my briefcase and travel use I carry a pen loaded with a cartridge (and extra cartridges).

I want to use this for watercolor work - is this ink waterproof/water resistant?

I don't think so. I am almost positive it is not waterproof or water-resistant for that you will have to look at Noodlers bulletproof inks.

How many milliliters are in each cartridge?

Each cartridge contains 1.25 ml of ink.
