KlutzWrite in White Doodle Journal: My Brilliant Scribbles

I ordered four of these to give as gifts for upcoming birthdays. I always try to test things like pens if I can simply because they do sometimes fail. I don't want to give a gift that a child can't use right away. To say the least I'm incredibly disappointed. None of the four pens write. Two of the four seem structurally sound but won't work despite my best efforts, including removing the tiny little plastic cover. One of the pens, when I press down to write, the tip disappears into the barrel and the other pen won't completely close, the threads appear stripped. If you're keeping score, I'm 0/4. I'm going to attempt to find some good quality white gel pens to give with the books but I doubt I'll find ones with the cute barrels like the one included. I gave two stars because I know the disappointment of getting a gift you can't play with right away however, the books are awesome ideas. My daughters love things like this, including the ever popular wreck my journal type books. If I'd have even gotten one working pen, I'd have given 4 stars but the simple fact that zero of four worked, not even the awesomeness of this book could cover the sadness of not being to use it right away.

If you child loves to draw, this is perfect, especially for a girl. I bought at a scholastic fair and paid much more so this was a steal! Each page has a theme and your child can doodle/draw around the theme. I even played with a few pages.Cons: Pen is not the best. I understand its a gel pen but if the maker would have invested in a little better of a gel pen you would be much happier. The gel pen is in white and I have looked around online and its hard to find a replacement.

This was purchased for my granddaughter's 10th birthday. She was really excited to get it. She has had other doodle journals in the past. She's very artistic and is always drawing something. This was is the first one for her with the white marker.

This product was a display... Had the display sticker on front of book when it arrived. Payed for new.. not happy!! will not buy again. Wish I could give 0 stars.. not an option

My granddaughter loved this item. Although, the pen was all dried up and we had to go to a craft store to find one that would work. When we did find another pen, she played and doodled with this book for the better part of two weeks!

The journal is good although a little overpriced for what you get but the fact I received no complete white gel pen with it makes it an even worse deal. (I received a pen cap and 2 other small pieces from the pen only) Now I have to order white gel pens separately so my granddaughter has a complete gift at Christmas. Really careless packaging, it would have been obvious the pen was not there!!

The white gel pen does not work. This is very disappointing and is the whole point of getting this book.

Pen it comes with us useless, but you can easily purchase white or silver gel rollers --you will need more than one anyway!
