Great to have
Sold construction. Great little thing to have around for sure. I can’t wait till they figure out how to sneak a sharpener in there but it’s very compact so I couldn’t imagine how they could boy would that be a killer feature.

Nice product for reasonable price.
This is basically a good product for a very reasonable price. I like the magnet base that provides a storage option on metal shelf. The one thing I would improve is the "lip" on side to drawn lines in various increments. It is a bit too small, tending to slip off edge of wood. Not a big deal if you are careful. However, it would have cost next to nothing to make the lip a bit larger... easier to slide without slipping

Where has this been all my life.
Sometimes, the simplest, most inexpensive little tool can make the biggest impact. Never had one before, always measured center with a ruler. But this is a quick, fail-safe way to find center on boards. Used it to make a shelving unit, made life so much easier. Decent quality with a magnet on the bottom so it can be put on the site of a toolbox for quick access. Best fed dollars I have ever spent.

Decent but could be better
Well, I finally got around to using this marking tool the other day. I needed to quickly scribe a short piece of 2x4 to bore a couple of holes with a forstner bit. I needed to add two round magnets to the edge of the workpiece for use with a poorly designed TV stand the boss brought in to work for business related training sessions. The center scriber works good if only working with narrow edge materials. I was only able to center scribe the center of my work piece because it was shorter than the width of the tool's two posts. This tool can not center scribe to the ends of narrow edged boards or PVC panels we sometimes use to fabricate enclosures for electronic devices. The pencil was a bit snug when inserting into the tool. I had no problem removing pencil after using the marking tool. It is a good tool for quickly center scribing the narrow edge of your work piece. With some improvements, it could be more awesome.

Oldie but goodie
All though it's a primitive tool, it works like it should, and looks cool to the new carpenters.

Needs a built in pencil sharpener
Not perfect so I fixed it by gluing a pencil sharpener to it it should have one built in

Works as described, but...
Works exactly as described. However, it's very difficult to push the pencil far enough in the slot to get the lead to poke through to the other side so you can use it for marking. I understand it needs to be snug, but this is a bit too tight. Also, the lead pokes through only a fraction of an inch. I guess that's sufficient. I had to put the pencil in a vise to get it back out. The magnet is nice. I can stick the tool to my metal shelves in the garage. I won't lose this tool in my tool box.
