I'd run out of fire starters over the summer and needed more for my charcoal grill. After looking at all the various starters, I went with Kingsford both for the name recognition and the price. I have a Webber 22" grill and use a Kingsford chimney to start my coals. One Kingsford fire starter is sufficient to get the coals burning. These starters are made with wood shavings and paraffin in an egg shell-like cup. They fit perfectly in the space under the coals in my chimney. They not only work great, but are super economical.

These things work great!! easy easy easy.

These wood fire starters are a nifty eco-friendly way to light charcoal briquets without resorting to liquid flammables or electric starters. They light easily with one match and burn hot and cleanly on the grate of my Weber kettle using a Kingsford vertical starter unit with holes on the bottom and a heat-insulated handle using convection from the heat of the starter to be drawn up through the charcoal towards the open top. In my experience I can ignite around sixty pieces of charcoal with a single wood starter. One bag of starters seems to last forever. I am extremely happy with my purchase from Amazon and am glad I found a source for them online.

These work pretty good to light a fire in a fire pit. They don't stay lit too long. They are supposed to help you get the initial fire started. But you can throw a few in to keep it going. I will buy more for next summer.

Work great. They do exactly like you want from a charcoal starter. I use a chimney on my grill and smoker. These work great to start my charcoal.
