Aspenora 54-Quart Portable Fridge Freezer 12VDC/24vdc/110VAC
The Aspenora 54-Quart Portable Fridge Freezer looks great and seems to after testing 48hrs maintains good accurate temperature settings. Testing with no food about 2 degrees off. However, with food in the unit, it was dead-on!. Will be taking a trip with it in the car south and will give an update 30 days from now. Today is (11/09/2020). The unit is very quiet running. And YES, I would recommend this product thus far! Capt. Rob of StarGazer II UPDATE: 11/12/2020 8:44 pm After placing into my car and driving south for 3 days plugged into the car's 12VDC with frozen steaks, shrimp, and more... I made many stops to see the temperature with some stops 1hour or so, and she ran BEAUTIFULLY. Because of its lightweight, it was easy to bring into the hotel and plug into 110 vac. The runtime so far has been 24hrs for 3 days. It's GREAT! I Will add more later on a boat trip in 3 more day's Capt. Rob of SV/StarGazer II UPDATE: 12/05/2020 Installed Filters on open grills to the unit fan to trap dust but has great airflow. By using the velcro "hooks part only" with sticky backs and placed them at corners and mid sections about 1 inch long. Next went to hardware-type stores and purchased an air condition foam filter and cut it to the size you need to cover inlets and outlets on the unit. Just using your fingers press the filter firmly against the velcro strips and the hooks hold the filter good. Now To The Real Stuff: So far the unit has operated as 12vdc for almost 30days great with NO PROBLEMS to report. I will update again in 30days. GREAT PRODUCT from my viewpoint! - 2021 - Happy New Year! The product has been 100% running keeping food frozen and loving it. Can't say enough about its good performance. I purchased 2 units and will put unit number 2 into service on Jan 15th, 2021, and will update this as well. Capt. Rob 2/28/2021 UPDATE: It's now been running 24/7 for over three months now as 12vdc and 110vac also plugged into an inverter (Pure Sine Wave a must) and still working GREAT! I do, however, recommend you install a simple filter on the two vents. This has kept the internal fans and unit compartment clean of any dust and dirt and leading to any high-temperature failures. Like anything! "You take care of it! It will take care of you!" Capt. Rob of SV STARGAZER II 8/22/2021 UPDATE: It's been almost a year now and all is great!!! With proper cleaning of vents, she's been operating 24/7 the whole time with no problems. Capt. Rob UPDATE: 07/27/2022 1:39 est Hi all, Today is a hot 86deg weather. However, we just went threw a week of 90 Deg ++ for a week and the unit function FLAWLESSLY.. PURCHASED in 2020 and running 24/7 for 2 years now! I guess you can see the smiles on my face :) Capt. Nice to be able to carry frozen foods without worry.
So far, so good. I purchased this unit for my freightliner cascadia semitruck. I was having to keep buying ice to use in my conventional cooler to keep things frozen. It was a hit or miss. Ice is now over 2.50 for an 8 lb bag. At 3 to 4 bags a week minimum, it wasn't making much sense. So i figured I would give this a shot. So far it has been operating well. Its extremely quiet. I have tested it both at home using 110 volt cord and now in my truck on 12v. Both cords work as expected. I can keep frozen foods frozen until I am ready to put the item in my hot logic mini. The unit is very sturdy and easy to maneuver. I do not recommend filling all the way up and then trying to move it, it weighs almost 40 pounds empty. I like that it has detachable handles, led lighting inside, and a drain in the bottom if I need it. The touch pad is simple to use and i like that it automatically locks so it can't be changed accidentally. I had hoped that the unit could set on the floor in front of my passenger seat, it is like 2 inches too long between the swoop in the dash, and being able to close the passenger door, even with both handles removed. Drat! But it fits very nicely in the bottom cupboard on the passenger's side of my bunk. I had to remove one handle to keep it from sticking too far out. Time will tell, but if it preforms like I am hoping it will, i may end up purchasing another to replace my thermoelectric cooler that I use as a fridge on my truck.

Works as good as the Big expensive brands
Posted after about 1 year of use. I bought this to try it out and compare against my ARB 37q. The Aspenora has compared well so far and has surpassed my expectations. It also seems to cool down faster than the ARB and uses less stand by power. The ARB seems to use about 4-5 amps on stand by where the Aspenora only used 1-2 amps resulting in longer battery life when connected to a Jackery 500 or Aligoo 300. Both brands use 45-50 amps when running. I can turn it on before going in the grocery store and it’s cool enough when I return to keep groceries fresh. Included features are the same as far as screen lock out, battery protection and eco mode. It doesn’t seem as well built and “cool” as the ARB however with some care and precautions I think it will be just fine. My only complaint is the door latch. It broke after minimal use and is a little too delicate to be used for camping or the outdoors. It also has an annoying rattle when first starting up. At first I thought it was a problem with the compressor, but it only turned out to be the inside wiring knocking against something. If you move the fridge or push the power cord in, it stops. I contacted the seller and they sent me a new door with latch included so that counts for some great customer service! Now all I have to do is figure out how to install it without making things worse. No instructions for replacing the door were included. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to find some info online and when in doubt a little common sense should help me through. I would definitely consider purchasing this over the ARB if budget is a factor.

Great unit!
We've had this, and used daily, for close to 2 years. We initially bought it and installed it in our van for road trips, running it off solar, using as a refrigerator. We've since moved it onto our sailboat and use it as a freezer. For its size and price, it does the job well. We may upgrade at some point, but it works well for now. As a freezer, the temperature drops quickly when stocking it with fresh food. We have to rotate the food from the middle to the edges to make sure it all freezes. The food along the sides freeze first, of course. Once it's all frozen, it holds temperature pretty well. There is a little compartment inside, above the motor. This works as a cool box when used as a refrigerator, but font put perishable foods in it. As a freezer, we use this little compartment for butter, cream cheese, and cheese. It doesn't freeze, but keeps items fridge cold. We run it off solar power, hardwired into our house battery system.

This fridge works fantastic in my minivan (and soon to be ProMaster cargo van-vanlife). I keep it on Medium battery protection cause it kept turning off on high. I leave it continuously plugged right into the van battery and it doesn’t compromise any system. I love that it had a USB charging port. My only complaint is that for the life of me I can’t get it to set at 3 degrees. It seems to have a mind of its own on this one. It cools to 2 and recools once it hits 4. I can live with that. One time for whatever reason when first setting it up and figuring it out it had set to freeze and it sure did! Lol. Good to know. I have never tried to set the temperature to anything warm but I have to assume it would work as well. This fridge is super light weight and a fantastic size and I love that the side handles are optional so that it can fit in a smaller space. It’s so lightweight I can lift it easily with food in it without the handles with ease!!! Great product and COST EFFICIENT💙 Thanks Aspenora

I've used this portable fridge on our camping trip and it ran perfectly the whole week. The LED light inside the top lid is a nice touch especially when accessing the fridge at night. It also maintains a very consistent temperature control within the cooling compartment. One thing to keep in mind is that the touchscreen control panel is on the top of the lid ... so if you're stacking things on top, then it's going to get scratched/damaged easily. Second is the rubber cap for the USB slot ... be warned that it is extremely difficult to put the cap back in place after you have opened it. They have this tiny round rubber piece that must fit back into the round slot. Easier said than done. Once you start pushing into the slot, the rubber piece bends so it doesn't have enough rigidity to push back in. They should have made the USB cap just plug back into the USB slot and that would have been ideal. Otherwise, as far as the fridge/freezer goes ... it's excellent!

The quality seems really good. I used a Hi/low thermometer to check the interior temperature and it seems very consistent temperature wise. I’ve used both the 12 V and 110 V plug works well on both voltages. I like the way The fridge remembers it’s setting when it’s unplugged so there’s no need to reprogram it every time you shut your vehicle off. I also really like that it’s quiet when operating. The door opens with minimal intrusion to the back side of the fridge so there’s no need to plan for too much extra room for the fridge door to open. There’s also a detent at 45° angle; a nice touch.

This is a really great little fridge/freezer for the money compared to other options. We used this as a fridge set to zero degrees C for a recent 2 week car camping trip, it was fantastic. Didn't seem to have any issues with battery drain on the vehicle, kept things cool at all times. Used it on "ECO" mode the entire time, kept the compressor noises slightly lower for sleeping in the vehicle. Using it on "MAX" not really required from my perspective (maybe when using it as a freezer). After the camping trip, the fridge is now used as a dedicated beer fridge plugged into the 110V power. No issues, beautifully cold beer. 3-4 months of operation - no issues yet!

When received, this 37 quart fridge/freezer did power up and cool - quite fast in fact. I was pleased with the overall size and weight of the product, but when operating, the machine was noisy. In the end, it ran less than 8 hours before an F3 error code appeared rendering the fridge/freezer completely inoperative. Doing what the manual recommended for an F3 error did not resolve the issue and it has not worked since. Another issue - the interior light remained on when the lid was closed (you could see it shining through the plastic lid!). After various communications with Aspenora tech support / customer service, this product was determined to be neither repairable, nor returnable. The emails back and forth included sending various videos of the problems / noises it was making, and I was ultimately refunded the amount paid to Amazon, but NOT the import duty and additional charged imposed by UPS (which worked out to about $40 CDN in total). The tech support was OK but definitely not brilliant, but I appreciate the fact that I received the refund without having to spend more time explaining the problems to Amazon. I do, however have a fundamental issue with products like this that are unrepairable and are essentially disposable. I now have to take it to a recycling centre or the dump! It seems like such a waste. It also makes me wonder what would have happened if I was out in the middle of nowhere with a freezer full of food, and these issues occurred. A few other things… 1) The power line plugs into a socket mounted in very flimsy metal. It feels poorly made, and it needs to be redesigned. 2) The manual is poorly written and of questionable value. It would be more useful if it included fewer generalizations, more accurate error code information, and above all was written in proper English. 3) I am not sure the hinges will last, but then again, I never got the chance to test that out. 4) The light is bright but features a sticker or screen-printed graphic on the inside face that just looks cheap and nasty. Without the graphic, the light would glare into your eye when the lid is raised, but the graphic has pin holes in it, and is a poorly executed detail. Overall - this is a sub-standard product, that for me at least, delivered an unsatisfactory experience. I would not recommend this product.
